Completed . . .

 Project Sweater Pillow
is completed . . .
One thing to check off the list!

Twice a year I get together with a group of gals
I used to work with in pediatrics in the hospital.
There are six of us counting me.
We rotate homes for our gatherings.
Summer and Winter.
The pillows are my gift to them,
I hope they are not reading this . . .

One sweater . . . One pillow.
I used the front of the sweater for the front of the pillow
and the back of the sweater for the back.

Wool and wool blends work better for sewing
than a cotton like this one.
I loved the weave though and finally I made it work.
A Debbie Bliss knit pattern for the flowers.
(Just mentioning and giving credit, not for any perks . . . )

The red one is a pretty cable pattern
however it doesn't photo the best.
It is very soft and probably my favorite.

The white pillow is one I knit last year, my first with cable stitch.

"The Twins" were the easiest to do.
One sweater, two pillows.

One more cotton and again, difficult to work with.
BUT, I love it with the big button.

I won't bother you with anymore pillow pics
unless the gals let me take their picture with their pillow
when they are at my home in a few weeks.

I am going to promise myself a walk
each day between now and the first of the year.

I walk each day now but it is with Snickers and
she stops to smell too many mailboxes and trees.

I am going to push my energy a bit, I need it!

It feels great to get out in the fresh air.
If I start today I will be happy I did so on January 1, 2012

Do you want to join me  . . . ?
If so, let me know about your walk, where you walk, how you feel.

Good Luck To Us

You are so talented! I saw these in Country Living last year and swore I would make some. They were the felted wool pillows and purses. Ah, someday!
On my good days I walk the property. I love it. I will think of you doing the same :)
Have a great evening!

love your pillows! and love that you're pushing yourself to walk, too! i ran a couple of times this past week - just up and down our long driveway. hard on the knees, though, so i have to be careful.

I definitely know what you mean about taking a walk without the dog! I have that same problem. And yes, it is a huge difference when you're going at your own pace. Good luck with all that! :)

Hi Lynne,

Came over to meet you from Jill's blog!

Love the sweater pillows. Your sweaters are beautiful, which made beautiful pillows. Your friends will be blessed each time they lay their heads on them, or use them to put behind their backs for support. Love the small cables!

How did you finish the edges? Thought about doing this, but didn't want to ruin a sweater or pillow until I have more clarification. Just regular stitching? My thoughts were zigzags would stretch the sweater?

I'm becoming a new follower!

Blessings,
Donna

PS Mom and Dad walk every morning at the local mega mall. Then mom takes her meme walk in the afternoon around our neighborhood but she doesn't take me...I'm an indoor only cat and diva and my feet do not touch the ground.

Beautiful my friend. Such a great gift, something cozy to warm up anyone's home. My husband and I walk everyday, and it's something we look forward to. Just be safe out there in the ice and snow ;-) Love, Penny

I adore these pillows
they are just beautiful.

The red one reminds me of one
designed in Ireland by Meadows and Byrne

What a wonderful idea.
