Snickers, Squirrels and Snacks . . .

I guess this will be a snacking day, so here we go with
Snickers enjoying her favorite chew stick snack. . .

Grey squirrel is snacking on seeds while
sitting on the vine in the old oak tree.

bet you can guess who she is watching

We aren't football enthusiasts alhough when the
Packers are playing we are cheering for them.

Tonight we'll enjoy a couple of snacks
and enjoy the Giants and the Patriots.
I pulled out some of our favorite recipes,
and here are a couple we are enjoying tonight.

Water Chestnut Yummies
Old recipe
tried and true
cooking right now
Thanks

The following recipe is a great recipe to freeze, have available for a party.
I made these before Christmas and we are finishing them tonight.

Don't you love seeing a recipe written
in the hand of the recipe owner . . . I do.
By the way, bake these at 350, 15 minutes or so.

The other day I cut some red twig dogwood,
added my grey pine cones, along with a piece of Roseville
and just for fun I am showing you the look on our fireplace mantle.
The red twig look came from an idea I saw here,
go to the post
Morning Sparkle

We will enjoy the
Best Brownie Recipe
ever to cap out our snack night

Seriously . . . the best,

I would rather eat the batter than the brownies.
Can be frosted, I like them without.

I haven't a clue how many times I have made this recipe
Look at the torn, batter dripped recipe and you will have an idea.
Difficult to read, so here you go
PERFECT BROWNIES
{says Lynne}

1/2 cup softened butter, 1 cup of sugar, 2 eggs
mix softened butter and sugar, add eggs, mix thoroughly
add 1 teaspoon of vanilla,
1/2 cup flour,
2 1 oz squares of melted unsweetened chocolate
to above mixture, add 1/2 cup chopped walnuts if you choose.
(I use a double boiler to melt chocolate)
Pour batter in a 8x8"x 2" pan
Bake at 325 degrees, 35 minutes

Husband is not a chocolate guy so this will be
MY TREAT

What are your favorite snack recipes,
I would love to know?

That's a lot of great looking snacks you're having! Snickers is so cute chewing on his treat. If I were there I'd be sharing the brownies with you. Is that ok? :) Thanks for the link to my blog. I like your dogwood sticks in the vase. I see the Patriots are ahead at this point of the game (10:15 Atlantic time). I'm not watching it though - not interested and hubs is gone to bed. Bye for now. Blessings, Pamela

I watched a wee bit of the game with TGD, but was out for the half time show. No snacks here - someone in the house is watching her waistline in preparation for daughter's spring wedding.

Oh my goodness, now I'm starving! I've made those bacon wrapped chestnuts coated with brown sugar, but have never tried that sauce! I'm going to have to now! All of those recipes look just scrumptious! I think I'll have to head over and see you!

Hey Lynne, your Snickers is absolutely adorable!!! I´ve been warned not to give small dogs too many treats as they get constipated easily. But a little snacks are a must. They suggested lamb penises (uff..please don´t be offended I wrote that...but couldn´t think of a different word to say what it was I was talking about) anyhoot...they were easier to digest and she would have them for a long time. She loved them!!!

You had me at the bacon and water chestnuts and continued on the crab on english muffins. We can´t get english muffins in Norway- a crime right? Uff..I have looked at recipes many times and someday I´ll try making my own muffins, they can´t be that difficult.

I love everything- so asking me my favourite snack is difficult but this past weekend my friend made tapas for us which is like a bunch of little appetizers you eat as one big meal. Do you have tapas in the states? Anyhoot...she took like a proschitto ham (salted thinly sliced meat) and wrapped it around dates. So simple and the salt/sweet taste was out of this world. Was my first experience with dates and I was skeptical but it was really good, so I´ll definitely try it again!!
Have a wonderful day!!!
