First Comes April and Then . . .

Most of us miss out on life's big prizes.
the Pulitzer, the Nobel, Oscars, Tony's, Emmy's.
But we are all eligible for life's small pleasures.
A pat on the back.
A kiss behind the ear.
A four pound bass.
A full moon.
An empty parking space.
A crackling fire.
A great meal.
A glorious sunset.
Hot soup.
Cold beer.
Don't fret about copping life's great awards.
Enjoy its tiny delights.
There is plenty for all of us.

Hello Lynne,

This lazy Sunday afternoon prompted me to find you this.

“April wind is soft and warm as a baby's crib. It breathes on the crab apple tree until white blossoms open out, smeared with pink. The smell is sweeter than honey- suckle and brings bees swarming over the blossoms.”
― The Education of Little Tree

Happy weekend

Hi Lynne, Today was cool here in Chicagoland, but for the first time it smelled like spring. Then my honey brought me a Easter lily, and that sealed the deal...Spring has Sprung! I'll meet you in that field...;-) Love, Penny

I can't wait for real Spring to arrive! We have a large lavender bed and one of my great summer pleasures is to sit out in the morning and take deep breaths of lavender-scented air.
....but first, we need spring!

How true! I wouldn't trade these for an Oscar - though of course an Oscar would be nice:)
