Introducing Lila Jane

Thank you, Lynne for asking me to guest post for you.

My name is Babs and my blog is Babsjustababblin'.  Lynne and I have been friends since the early 80's.  We met at the hospital where we both had worked.  She is a dear friend.  I introduced her to the world of blogging just about a year ago.  We get together each week for a latte and chat about the latest discoveries in blogland and other interests....gardening, thrifting, antiquing, good reads, knitting and the like.

I would like to introduce to you Lila Jane.  She is a 1969 vintage camper.  I have always wanted a "canned ham."  My husband did not think I was serious.  Actually we had a little "tiff" about it last summer.  Low and behold he came home one day last fall towing this gem behind him.

As you can see she was pretty homely.  She has good bones, however.  Over the course of the winter, hubby spent hours gutting her insides and then putting her back together again.

This spring she really has gone together.  She got a face lift and looks so adorable.  The inside has been painted.....Dove White.  Seats cushion recovered....white.  Curtains going up....white lace.  The accent colors will be aqua and gray for sure.  We'll see what else I come up with.

It won't be long and Lila Jane will be out for her maiden overnight excursion.  Just some finishing touches are in progress....new tires this weekend, painting the underside and the door goes on.

I am so proud of my husband for the fine work he has done.  I hope he will enjoy pulling up next to a fishing stream and throwing in a line while I read a good book or do some knitting or just walking some solemn trails.

Follow our journey at babsjustababblin.  I have lots of little things to show you as I continue with my decorating.  Throw pillows are being made, I have a cute re-do of a TV tray/table to use outside.  Vintage table clothes will be used outside.  On the hunt for a candleabra for the picnic table also.  Antique markets start up in the next few weeks so I hope to find lots of treasures.  Glamping.....glamour camping is going to be my style.
Hope to see you again.

Thank you for Lynne for letting me share Lila Jane with your readers.  You will be in our thoughts and prayers as you undergo your hand surgery this coming week.  A speedy recovery is our hope for you!
Best regards,
Babs!

You will be responsible for a sudden mad rush to buy Lila Jane's cousins! What girl wouldn't want such a pretty little playhouse?

I have wanted one of these ever since I saw a documentary on TV about a group of ladies who all bought one and would meet once a year to go camping! You did a great job refinishing this beauty!

You have a great canned ham; well done! Dave and I bought a '65 Scotty just a couple of weeks before he died. It's sitting in the barn now, waiting...
