Happy Holidays . . .

Mom
whose birth date was
December Six Nineteen Ten
 often had an
Amaryllis at Christmas time.
In Memory of Mom
A glorious flower with three bursting buds
singing
love, love, love.

A wonderful weekend it was . . .
Friends for snacks, soup and sweets on Friday.
Fabulous neighborhood gathering on Saturday with delicious foods and visits.
Our bi annual Peds Party on Sunday hosted by Terri.
Scrumptious, Warmth, Laughter, Games.
We all brought gifts to share.
I wonder who brought
Fresh Greens.

We shared many a day in Pediatrics at Mercy Health Partners.
Mary, Carolyn, Terri, and Char were the nurses.
Bettie was the head nurse and then there was Pastoral Care me.
Now we picnic in the summer and gather again in December.
We have been doing so since the mid eighties.

Char, Bettie, Lynne sitting.
Mary is still working at MHP.
Carolyn, Char, Bettie and Lynne are retired.
Terri is teaching.

So great to see all your former colleagues together. Nice, nice photo. The greens were so creative, glad they all liked them. Your amaryllis is coming right along.

Just the loveliest photos of all you ladies. ;-)) Thanks for sharing them with us... oh, and I still have not purchased my amaryllis... need to get that done!

What a gorgeous setting for your party. Like you and your mom, I also celebrate with an amaryllis and paper whites. This year the bulbs were already sprouting without the aid of water or soil. Head start on beauty on my kitchen windowsill. My husband made me the greatest coils out of copper to support the flowers as they get top heavy. Have a blessed day Lynne.

I already have blooms on my paper whites. I guess they'll be for Christmas and plant more for Easter! How lovely that you get together with these beautiful ladies so often. Friendships are so important. It looks like you are bringing in the season in style!

Dear Lynne, Now that I know you, I know why you have so many dear friends! So wonderful for you to get together, and twice a year is awesome. I have always wondered if I could get an amaryllis to bloom. It's such a beautiful way to remember your Mom. You are really embracing the holiday spirit. Enjoy! Love, Penny

I drop a leave a response when I appreciate a article on a site or I have something to valuable to contribute
to the discussion. Usually it's caused by the fire displayed in the article I looked at. And on this post "Happy Holidays . . .". I was actually excited enough to post a comment :-) I do have 2 questions for you if you usually do not mind. Could it be just me or does it seem like a few of these responses appear as if they are coming from brain dead folks? :-P And, if you are posting on additional sites, I would like to follow you. Looks like you had a great time visiting with your coworkers. Fresh greens are such a delightful way to share natures bounty with your friends. Your Amaryllis is pretty already, and it hasn't even bloomed yet. 3 buds! WOW. (Your mom and my daughter share a birthday)
