Memories and Treasures . . .

My Mother's Treasured Hummel Nativity
and now mine
The cloth is a Hardanger of hers.

bird nests

 paper ornaments

cards

Christopher Radko

homemade ornaments from a friend

wooden pieces from my children's baby bed mobile

my mom's handmade felt ornaments
this for my dad
he loved the
Green Bay Packers

collectible and vintage ornaments

Shiny Brights

 Humpty Dumpty
symbolic to me
we can put our lives back together again

Many ornaments fill our tree..
I must admit
I hesitated to decorate the tree this year.
I thought fresh greens and vases would be just fine.
But once the boxes and containers came out of the attic
I was pulled back into the memories and treasures
I have collected through the years.

The lights glowing.
Music playing softly
Candles burning
Decorating the tree and the house
is most definitely a treasure..

 Santa Corner
I hope we can each bring a bit of santa to others each day.
~
and on another note
a bit of a bump in the road here on riverwood
this past weekend I experienced my third kidney stone
the worst . . . very, very painful
surgery on monday
I am home and taking it easy.
and very thankful the weekend is behind me.
 I had hoped to share
more December holiday preparations,
greens and memories
but right now
we will have to see how things go.
so until the next time
my love and caring
Love, Lynne

I'm so very sorry to read that you have had surgery for kidney stones - too, too painful! I hope your healing is swift and that you're spared any more pain.
Your tree is very pretty. I quite understand why you capitulated and decided to have one. Like you, I have a Hummel nativity - so precious!

I'm so sorry that you suffer from kidney stones. When my husband has an attack, I feel so helpless.

Lynne, you poor thing. How horrible to deal with another stone. Wishing you a very speedy recovery so that you may find comfort and enjoy your Christmas. That nativity is beautiful.

Oh NO!! I'm glad you are feeling better. I've heard..only heard...that it is extremely painful. I hope it wasn't as bad for you as I've heard. Yucky.

I'm feeling the same about decorating the tree. It's up, has lights on it...but nothing else. Maybe this weekend.

Your mom's nativity set is beautiful. I have my paternal grandmother's set. I treasure it dearly. And I love Snoopy, your dad's ornament is swoony!

And Humpty Dumpty...a perfect reminder. Sometimes only we can do, what all the kings horses and all the kings men, can not and I think it's better that way.

BIG hugs, so glad you are on the mend.

Love,
Andrea

Your tree is exactly like ours. I can’t bear to change a thing. Sometimes I am wistful to break tradition and do something different. The only way that would happen is not to go near the boxes at all. The minute I peek into just one container I’m misty eyed thinking how could I not put out whatever is there. Take care, heal fast . . . good thoughts coming your way. Peace.

That little clown on the tree is just the most precious little fella... and I always enjoy seeing old fashioned glass ornaments on a tree. They just speak of home to me. :-)
