Memory Keepers . . .

memories are gifts

Saved Peter Rabbit Card
1990
Peter has been hopping
around the house through all the snow.
I am reminding him that soon there will be
some gardening going on here on Riverwood.

April 14, 1972
My son Scott, eight years old.
Baraboo, Wisconsin

We awakened to snow for the birthday boy.
Grandpa and Gramma Peacock, Gramma Gordon and Uncle Terry
were visiting us for Easter and birthday.
All of us went outside and made the
 "Snow Bunny"
with colored eggs.

 Cocker Spaniel Pups
I am holding "Goldie" . . . she was my girl!
Lone Rock, Wisconsin
1945

I love this card Scott made me when he was five or six.
Love the ears!

Scott and Sue's children
Cody is now 22 and Amanda is 19

What must our little ones think
when we put them through this?

Suzie and Mike's children
Tyler above, now eighteen.
I wish I had a picture of Jordon sitting on a bunny lap.
Jordon will be fifteen this summer.
He starts track and drivers training next month.

More blown eggs from the early nineties.

Knitted Bunny Gift
1990's

My mom folded this Palm, early in the 1980's.

Hibiscus
An outside plant brought inside for the winter.
This bright orange red flower has brought me daily reminders
of promise in this season of life.

The plant laid dormant for the first weeks I brought it inside.
And then one day, I noticed some buds,
and all of a sudden, a bloom  and then another and another.

The winter brought me some dormant time.
To take a look at what once had charmed me
and what wasn't there anymore.
Long, grey, sunless days gave me a chance
to look at the changes that were emerging within me.

I was still there, very intact,
but my colors had changed.
I was growing in a new space
just waiting
for the magic to happen.

I really needed the winter.
A time for quiet.
A time to listen.
To stop the rush.
To bring the spring back in my step.

Spring is here.

"I see trees of green, red roses too
I see them bloom, for me and for you.
and I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

I see skies of blue, clouds of white
Bright blessed days, dark sacred nights.
and I think to myself, what a wonderful world.

The colors of the rainbow, so pretty in the sky
Are also on the faces . . . of people going by
I see friends shaking hands, sayin' . . . how do you do
They're really sayin' . . . I love you . . .

I hear babies cry and watch them grow
they'll learn much more, than I'll ever know.
And I think to myself
What a Wonderful World

and I say to myself
What A Wonderful World
~
First Robin
yesterday.

Such a lot in this post - from the sweet images to your thoughtful musings. We all we all need that time to re-evaluate. When there's no chance to do that we get stale or perhaps frustrated. It truly is a wonderful world - and time to think brings that right to the forefront.

Dear Lynne, How beautiful are memories...you can call them up, just with our minds. Of course a photo is great too. You have the longest legs, you must have run like the wind...so sweet to see lil' Lynne. There are new things blossoming in all of us. You have to be brave to let them bubble to the surface, and share them with the world. Thank you my friend, for sharing yourself with all of us. Love, Penny

Lynne, One of my favorite songs. And bunnies always a favorite. I loved traveling through time with your bunnies and babies. Winter...it has always been my thought we need to the time hibernate just as other mammals. You described why beautifully. Bonnie

What wonderful memories Lynne ...........I love that Peter Rabbit card.
We have quite a few robins in the garden. They are about all year here in the UK. They actually sit with us as we dig the garden so that they get the worms and insects as we dig over the ground.
We had sulshy snow overnight so, I'm staying in today !! XXXX
