Happy Halloween . . .

A bit of pumpkin and memory to decorate the house for friends.

 Bitter sweet, dried cone flower
and a piece of Roseville
of my dads
which years ago
he housed in a bookcase in his office.

Soup and salad evening is ready.

We girls enjoyed a glass of wine
while the guys enjoyed
some big boy drinks
as we grazed a bit before dinner.

The turnip kids joined the group too.
I carved another . . .
and turned the turnip upside down,
added a bit of green food coloring
and let the roots and stem
become an Irish hat.

The front door fern was bit by the frost
and retired to the woods
leaving this area feeling quite void.

Although some real live pumpkins
plus some fake tin ones
jumped into place
ready to greet the little ones
tomorrow evening.

Three Little pumpkins
Siting on a fence
A witch came riding by
Ha, Ha, Ha
I'll take you all
and make a pumpkin pie.

I remembered this little song from my
kindergarten teaching days
and have been singing it all day long.
.
Wonder what those little ones thought
while I was teaching them this song.
Oh my . . .I hope they survived!

Call me Lucky
I was one of ten to win
the Holiday Issue of Midwest Living

Thank you Alison!

Being a first time visitor to
her beautiful
was wonderful for me
and certainly would be for you.
Enjoy!
~
Happy Halloween Everyone
Stay safe, the weather is predicted to be wild!

Until the next time,
Love, Lynne

Your turnip pumpkin heads on the dining table are quite cute, Lynne, especially the Irish one. LOL I like your pumpkin display on the front porch. We had a beautiful frost here this morning but it's going to warm up to 50 tomorrow and 65 on Friday! Weird weather.
Hugs,
Pam

What fun you are having with family!! I really love your clever turnips too. The weather is definitely going to be wicked for Halloween. I don't think Josie is going to be visiting many houses tomorrow night. Good thing we've had a whole month of celebrations happening at my house!

Halloween hugs!

Love the Rosewood Vase and Midwest Living. That is a bit of a scary song to teach young children.

Hi Lynne, How inviting your lovely home all decked out for the fall. I know you'll enjoy your Midwest Living with Alison's home. I love that board you're using as a table runner...I asked my hubby if we could tie one to the back of the truck and drag it for a couple of blocks...;-). He doesn't say no to me often, but this time it was firm, NO! Have a cozy weekend dear one. Love, Penny
