This was the one sight I wanted and waited to see while in NYC.
The final morning in New York we took off for the Highline.
It was well work the wait and definitely a highlight of our trip.
I heard about The High Line from
when she mentioned it a few months ago
when she was in NYC.
It is a breath of fresh air in the midst of all the city fast pace.
I am warning you, photo overload to follow..
I heard this melodic bird a few minutes into our walk
and had to look around a bit before I found him.
I have been trying and trying for bird close ups back home,
I can't believe I was able to get this photo, on a whim, while in the city..
I hope one of you can identify the bird for me..

What a beautiful garden oasis, in the midst of a giant city.

what a neat place! a great way to use that area and give the birds and wildlife a place to thrive.
i think that looks like a mockingbird.
How fun to see it in the fall, since I was there in the summer! The berries are so colorful and pretty :-)
Wow, it looks like it was wonderful, thanks for sharing.
Looks like a mockingbird to me..They can sound like any bird...Love that sign about raising babies LOL..great pics..
Lovely walk through New York.
Looks like a lovely bit of peacefulness in the middle of the busy city.
I remember hearing about this years ago when they started to build it. It's amazing, and yes, it's on my bucket list of places to see.
I love that in the middle of one of the worlds busiest cities, there is life, and restoration.
Brings hope to all of those big cities.

Missed this one Lynne. Lovely photos of the plant life in the big city and the artwork etc. I really want to do the Skyline one day.
Beautiful photos of your trip. I sure enjoyed looking at them. I wish I could take photos like that myself. Laurette.
Lynne, what a pretty place for a walk. I love the plants and sculptures. I think Tex is right about the Mockingbird, maybe a young one. Thanks for sharing your NYC trip. Have a happy day!
