Jack read the paper
and Snickers waited
and watched
and waited some more
the turnips were lit
It rained and rained and rained
and very few children were out and about
for their usual Halloween candy treats.
As usual,
as soon as everyone arrived
the camera became a forgotten item.
We visited and enjoyed the chili.
This morning the lights and glitter and pumpkins
plus other fall decorations
were tucked away for another year.
And I have moved into thinking
thankful.
Until next time,
Love,
Lynne

snickers looked plumb bored. :) so cute!
This is the first time since I've owned a home I did not turn the porch light on to give out candy. Most kids go to a big party Cowboy Fellowship has and they get everything there and have a good time.
Sorry you had rain on Halloween night, poor kiddies. Snickers looks adorable as always! Glad you had a fun time with your family, friends and chili! Have a great evening!
I have put away my fall things too, just this morning. It was a quiet eve here with only 3 visitors. Glad it's over for another year. In 10 more days I'll decorate for Christmas. I think. :)
Snickers is adorable, and she looks like quite a patient pup! :) Happy belated Halloween, and welcome to the wonderful Thankful Season.
Snickers is a cutie.
We didn't have many trick or treaters this year also because of the rainy night. Now we are enjoying the leftover candy treats. Snickers is adorable.
Cute post..Snickers looks evil in that first picture..scary
I'm sure you all enjoyed the Chili..too bad about the rain..
Mine (pumpkins) are all put away as well..Happy Sunday..
We have no trick or treaters here, but that doesn't stop me from buying candy! :-) Hope you have a nice Sunday!
You enjoyed the moment, way more important.
I am so sorry to hear about the rain. I know may children love dressing up and showing off their costumes. Maybe next year will be much nicer weather.
Snickers is such a cutie. I'm glad you were able to enjoy the night with family. It was a slower night with the rain at our house too. Good thing we had our fill of Halloween the WHOLE month long! Now, I just need a fairy godmother to help me put it all away!
I call this the PERFECT POST! I loved it!! It was just exactly the right length, beautifully written and I am just plain jealous! LOL I'm teasing...but I am sincere when I say it was perfection! And your little dog...HOW CUTE!! Are we lucky women or what? Even with my losses I do feel fortunate and like you, I am moving into that grateful mood for all I have. Thank you for reminding me to be exactly that..grateful!
Love,
Mona
What a cutie!!
We were gone for Halloween, but our kids were here, and they told us that we had a great turn-out of trick-or-treaters.
Yes.. I too am thinking of this Thankful time of year. So much to be thankful for.
While on topic, I am so grateful for our friendship. You have a gift for making friends , for supporting, encouraging and making life better for me and so many. So this November, and all year through, I am thankful, for you! love, Penny
Awww, what a sweet pup! What breed is Snickers? I want a dog like that!
Cute post, Lynne. We had quite a few tricker or treaters because a very popular, young schoolteacher/coach lives above us, and all the kids visited him. They had to walk past our apartment to climb the stairs to do so. My hubby opened the door whenever he heard them outside and yelled "Boo!". That made the evening fun.
So darling..love that the turnips where lite! You are so cute!
I'm still seeing pumpkins out on the steps...didn't those people read my post on Autumnal hangover? LOL.
We bought candy for hundreds, and only 15 showed up.
Jen
