I bundled myself up yesterday and took off for the grocery store to purchase some ingredients for my soup making this week. My first purchase, tulips.
They brightened up my day and they zapped me out of my frumpy mood.
The little bird looked up at me and said, it is about time!
Marshmallow snow continues to persist
but soup making, baking some yummy sweets
and delving into some of the books on my list
will be my plan for the final week of January.
What are you doing to sparkle up these long winter days?
Thanks for visiting,
until next time.
Slainte'.
Love, Lynne

I love your cute bird and the beautiful pink tulips. They would brighten my mood too. Enjoy your soup and have a great evening!
Tulips indeed bring spring in the house. I also did buy them also because they are my favorite flowers
Stay warm and enjoy the soup. Love a big pot of soup on the stove when it is cold out.
Lynne, Your lovely tulips are lovely. I understand how they would cheer you up. Stay warm! Bonnie
January seems to be the month most get fed up with winter, but for me it February...our snow doesn't leave until March...and then it's bring on spring, and the heat.

I love that bird! and the spring look of tulips.
Pretty tulips! What do I do to contend with this winter cold.....we're heading to FL real soon!
Oh lovely ! Those tulips are certainly making me think Spring ... until I look out the window ! lol
I must find some fresh flowers. Your group of tulips are so pretty. Stay cozy. The next two days sound brutal. Josie's getting tired of indoor recess.
I love your pink tulips, as you know. :) And the little bird is sweet. It is definitely soup weather here. Maybe tomorrow.
Lovely photos.

Umm, I went out in my robe and slippers at 5 am this morning to take a photo of the moon. It was -5F. Lord help me.
Sounds like you have the right idea with a bunch of tulips,a yummy hot soup, tasty treats and a good book. Sounds almost perfect!!
Oh yes it is Spring!Inside your home that is! Love the tulips and thank you for sharing. We have been having nothing but springlike weather here...such sunny days. xoxo
I bought some flowers at the grocery store yesterday too.
Hi. Tulips would brighten up any day, Thanks for sharing
Hi Lynne, you little birdie is sweet. I always dove into baking or cleaning house when the need arose. Why cleaning I'll never know. Your tulips are pretty and I hope you got your soup made. Me, babysitting, chopping wood, beading and enjoying this holiday time with family while I'm away from home
I'm late...again!! Well, I will continue reading "Sense and Sensibility" ..try to post a bit more often..(which is always a struggle for me but I love it!) and, continue trimming all the dead dry Mum's that have new growth down near the roots. A promise of Springtime.
The tulips are lovely. They cost so much at the Market here. About ten dollars a bunch..and I don't need that touch of Springtime as much as you do with all the cold and snow you have been going through. However, you will have a lovely Spring and ours, at the rate we are going, will be dry and sad looking. AND they may stop us from watering if something doesn't happen soon.
The tulips even gave me a lift..and the tiny birdie is the sweetest touch!
Big hugs.
Mona
