From The Land Of Eire . . .

I hope you'll enjoy a few pictures from our trips to Ireland.
This first photo is the view from the cottage overlooking Bantry Bay.
The village of Bantry, Co Cork, is located in the lower
South West of Ireland near the Atlantic Ocean.
The cottage is tucked back into a hillside quite far from the village.
We have toured most of the lower half of Ireland
South from Dublin and Shannon.
The orange flower, Crocosmia is found along the roads and hedgerows
I have it growing here now in several places in the gardens.

The white cottage, with the cat sitting in front is where we stay.
Michigan friends of ours own the cottage and we have been
very fortunate to stay there when we visit Ireland.
The cottage is traditional to most Irish cottages,
with low ceilings, really thick walls, huge fireplace wall, tiny kitchen.

The little stone house you see above is
the garden house which sits in front of the cottage.
Jack and I slept in the garden shed on our first trip to Ireland.
The windows on the back side of the shed overlooking the bay
make for a beautiful morning view.

The large stone area, Sheepshead, is a challenging
stone, rock outcropping near the ocean and not far from the cottage.
We enjoyed an extended hike there on our second trip with friends of ours
and they snapped this picture of us.

The picture above is of us at the Kennedy Compound near New Ross.
JFK's great grandfather Kennedy's birthplace is the building behind us.
We visited here in 2007.

And this last photo is me
 wishing you a bit
of sunshine in your day
pep in your step.
joy in your heart.

Enjoy a Happy St Patrick's Day
my friends
Love, Lynne

What cute photos of you and your husband! Someday I do hope to get to Ireland. My daughter spent a few days in Cork while she was studying in Europe last semester. She kissed the Blarney Stone and did some other sightseeing. I think she said Cork was among her favorite places in Europe--Paris was No. 1. Happy St. Patty's Day, Lynne!

So beautiful, and I love the cottages! I am unfamiliar with Crocosmia but they are beautiful, I wonder if they would grow in Florida? Lovely photos of you and hubby.
