Forward With Flowers . . .

Join along with me and
turn back the clock a bit to this past December.
The photo below is of an Amaryllis
which bloomed for me on Christmas Day.

There were five flowers on this grocery store bulb
and it bloomed for a few weeks
and then I cut the flowers from the bulb
and used them in a fresh flower arrangement.

The Amaryllis was so gorgeous I wanted to save the bulb,
plant it and have it hopefully grow and bloom again.

I decided because of the sometimes harsh Michigan winters
my garden might not be the best place for me to plant it.
So I packed it up and sent it to Olive Out
for her to plant it in her garden in Georgia.

You can find Olive right here.

Olive has planted many of her Amaryllis bulbs
and has been fortunate to have them bloom and thrive.

Olive dug my bulb in the ground when
the spring temperatures warmed.
It wasn't long before the green stalks of my
Michigan bulb began to appear.

Look at that . . .there she is
growing just fine.

It is doubtful that my bulb will flower this year but.
stay tuned though, I will scream and holler
when she does!

The Amaryllis below is one that bloomed in
Olive's garden a few weeks ago.
Beautiful Flower isn't it!

What fun it was to do a
Forward With Flowers.
~
Until next time,
Love, Lynne

Amaryllis always make me think of my mom...she usually had one and enjoyed it so much. Then I moved here, and the neighbor I had for a long time always had one.

I wish I had what it takes to take the time to learn to grow flowers that are not so common. I stick to the everyday..not so beautiful flowers. You know, like pansies..etc.
Those flower are gorgeous!!

Now that's a great idea instead of letting it languish in a dark spot.

Lovely flowers.

What an ingenious idea, Lynne. Your Amaryllis bloomed so beautifully at Christmas. I hope it will do the same for Olive.
