Hydrangea Mop Heads . . .

Hydranges
the Irish call them
Mop Heads

these are growing in the front of my friend Jackie's house
planted in the forties probably
Jackie does nothing
NOTHING
to aid in their growth, color, vibrancy
doesn't water or feed them
protect them or provide care

she invites me to come over to cut them
she wants non for herself
aren't they lovely
aren't I lucky to have her hydrangeas
and
her friendship
~
her birthday is today
bet she won't mind if we wish her a
Happy Birthday
~
'till next time
Love, Lynne

Really beautiful! Granny used to bury old pieces of iron under hers to change the colors.

Your flowers are amazing. I have been reading backwards.

Great trick for the corn. I will have to remember that.

Happy birthday Jackie. So nice of you to share your lovely hydrangeas. I am also a big fan. My hydrangea bushes are only in their second year .you are very lucky to have a neighbor like Lynne.

They are gorgeous! This year has been a banner year for hydrangeas up here as well, and as I write I can see two big bouquets on tables here.

they are lovely; some years back, I planted one from my Grandmother's funeral.when I leave the farm, it's going with me.

They really are beautiful and one of my favorites! My hydrangea won't bloom this year because of the cold winter, so this year I'll have to be content with just the green, and be thankful that it survived the winter.

And, HaPpY, HaPpY Birthday to your friend Jackie!!!

I love Hydrangeas, but mine were whiney babies during the 2012 drought. We didn't have rain from late May until mid- to late July, combined with constant highs in the 90s and some 100s. It was awful, and the Hydrangeas didn't like it, although at the height of the drought/heat I watered them every day because I love them. :) They are so beautiful. Happy birthday to your friend, and lucky you!

Those are lovely Hydrangeas, hum she does nothing to them and they are that beautiful, amazing. I have an early hydrangea and she has already put out and gone to rest. I love the colours and the idea you can pick when ever you like

Lynne, I call them mop heads as well, and they are my favorites. My hydrangeas tools a hit this last winter. A couple of my favorites had to be cut back severely. Hopefully they will return next year. Enjoy a visit with your friend. Have a great week! B.

happy birthday to your friend, Lynn! I envy her easy hydrangeas! Why do some of us have to bend over backwards for a little beauty?? Hey, we are starting to see sweet corn here now. May have to try your microwave technique.

They are so lovely.
Sadly, my hydrangea bush will NOT bloom. :-(
And that makes me sad.
Lucky you to have those!
