Wall Building . . .

We have been rebuilding some of the old stone walls around our yard,
adding more stone and building new.
It is an ongoing process as plantings change and ideas emerge.

We find the large rocks by the country side roads where
they are tossed by the farmers who are working their fields.
We enjoy going on the hunt to search and find.

Our little furry friend enjoys watching over us
during the rock moving building process

The Bitter Sweet vine you see twisting up that old oak tree
is twenty five years old.
The buds are just beginning to bud up.
Soon I will be showing you their brilliant orange gold color.

It is a treat for me to have planted and maintained
Bitter Sweet here at our home
It was a favorite of my dad.
He had a glorious vine
that wove up two stories around a porch at our home.
Truly beautiful!
~
That's it folks, see you soon!
Love, Lynne

~
Stand tall and proud.
Go out on a limb.
 Remember your roots.
 Drink plenty of water.
Be content with your natural beauty.
Enjoy the view.

I just love the idea of building stone walls. They are one of my favorite things! We've been so busy with other projects, but a stone wall would sure be charming!

We, too, pick up rocks in our travels! And I can't wait to see your bittersweet when it turns color. It is just so beautiful then.

I absolutely love what you are doing with the rocks. I'll bet they will be there for hundreds of years into the future.

Nothing better than a stone wall. They look wonderful. Snickers is a great supervisor. Got those little beady eyes on everything. Too cute. Have a good day.

Love that Snickers is the project manager :)

I've always loved bittersweet vine, and I'd love to grow it here. I wonder if it's possible??

Have a great week, my friend.

Wow, Lynne - I'm in love with that vine!!
Beautiful stone work, too.
Our neighboring property was cleared for farming by the homesteader. His kids, now retired, have come back to the family farm to rework the fields in past years.. After plowing, they have borrowed OUR kids to do rock picking.. and the discarded rock pile between our properties gets added to. That's a great way to acquire them!
Can't wait to see more of that Bittersweet.

Good Morning Lynne, Gosh, how marvellous to find the stones you need on the road side.... I have to tell you Lynne they would cost a fortune to buy here at a garden centre.
I was fascinated by the bitter sweet vine growing up the trunk of your tree.... it is really impressive.
I am glad to see Snickers (looking cute as ever) is giving you the support you need to get all your work done.
Have a lovely day today.
Best Wishes to you.

I adore bittersweet, Lynne. It's my favorite thing to decorate with in the fall. I had to chuckle when I read the part about you and hubby picking up rocks along the road. We've been doing that very thing all summer long, and stacking the rocks next to the shop on our lot. Eventually they'll be used in our landscaping. Hugs, Nancy

One of the beautiful posts I have read this day! I’m lucky to visit your blog and read a cool architectural idea. I have in many places and currently in Japan, and fortunate to see your post which also reminds me of one of their gardens. The glorious vine, gorgeous!
