Recognizing Ruth . . .

Jack and I wish we had also attended one more
celebration at our local college on Veteran's Day.

Ruth A Lundeen
was one of six WW ll honored.
Five men and Ruth.

Ruth served as a nurse in the China, Burma, India campaign.
She was stationed in India.

Ruth is an alert, agile, zest filled
BEAUTIFUL WOMAN
And 94 years of age!
She is my friend Barb's mother.

Ruth's granddaughter usually wears her uniform on these special occasions,
but granddaughter Leah is living and working in Texas right now.
So Leah's friend Ashley stepped in and wore Ruth's Army uniform.

Many of Ruth's family attended.
Here you will find her daughter Barb on the left,
Ashley and Ruth,
and son Phil on the right.

Ruth's daughter, Maggie,
escorted WW ll residents from an assisted living facility to this event.
They too were recognized, you can see some of them sitting behind Barb.
(Sorry Maggie, no photo for you.)
Beautiful Honoree
Lovely Family

God Bless You Ruth
Thank You For Your Service.

Thank you Lynne for the amazing post of my mom. She is awesome and so humble. Thank you all for your comments as well. She does great for 94. Still lives alone and is as kind as she always has been.

She's an amazing lady and so young looking for 94! Wonderful post!

In answer to your question asking why funding dropped off at my daughter's facility, it is because the organization (which I hesitate to name, but is nationally known) depends on donations and people have just simply quit giving as they used to. Other funders are feeling the same money crunch, too. But the sad part is that the non-profit organizations such as my daughter's child care are going to find it really hard to keep their doors open. They have staff to pay, overhead, mortgages on their buildings, etc. They have tightened their belts as much as they can and even hold small fundraisers, but it's going to be tough to keep going.
