the snow fences go up, this water will soon be ice,
Milwaukee is about seventy miles west of Muskegon
the fences hold the sand from moving up on the roadway
see how the sand billows up along the fence line

I am surprised that the fence on the beach is still standing. Great fence shot.
Great pictures of beach fences!
We don't have those around here.

I love the pictures, Lynn. Having lived most of my life on Long Island, I will say that looking at the water, the sand dunes and the fences brought back a lot of memories for me. Thank you.
Beach fences are always an interesting and odd sight. I like that last pic quite a bit
love the soft colors in these and great fences, lynne. :)
I love the way fences control the blowing sand. Very pretty.
Like the pictures all Lynn. Great fences.
Great pictures.
I can understand why they put the fences up.
On our trip to Oregon, we saw the most incredible sand hills next to the ocean. Sand, sand everywhere.
Enjoy this day :)

Brrr..looks cold..Storm fences are a must along the beaches...Great pictures Lynne
These are really neat. This is not something I see in my area and I find them very unique.
Are you near Muskegon? I spent a weekend there with a couple of girlfriends a few years ago. We had a blast and loved that town! We were there in October and the beach was so beautiful.
I enjoy a walk at the beach... Wonderful fence shots, Lynne!
Love snow fences and the subtle colors of the beach this time of year.
I can feel the cold wind blowing the sand up against the fences.
