Did you think I would ever return
We enjoyed a few sunny and warm days in Texas
but we enjoyed some forty and fifty degrees too.
We didn't seem to mind at all
much warmer than zero and below weather.
We enjoyed some authentic Mexican food with our friends Tom and Thora.
This was Mexican breakfast time.
T & T spend several months in Mission, Texas.
We rented a place near them for a few weeks.
I enjoyed catching up with a high school friend of mine from Iowa.
We met them at Dirty Al's for some shrimp and scallops, YUMMY!
Carol and her husband Myron had been spending a few months in Harlingen, Texas.
Carol and her husband took us to visit the
Iwo Jima Memorial and Museum in Harlingen.
The original sculpture of the Iwo Jima Memorial,
that is in Arlington Cemetery in Washington DC is in Harlingen
at the Marine Military Academy and Iwo Jima Memorial Museum.
This is the clay sculpture that the bronze statue in
Arlington Cemetery was made from.
Jack and I visited Arlington Cemetery this past October.
I enjoyed snapping some pictures of the flowers and ferns
during my morning walks.
~
Our trip was called short because my brother Terry
became very ill and we left Wednesday the fourth
to drive to Iowa to be with him.
We have not had the best luck with the weather.
Ice, sleet, snow storms on the way to Texas
and a repeat performance on the way to Iowa.
The most dreadful driving weather you can possibly imagine.
~
We are still in Iowa, Terry remains in kidney failure.
He has been in the hospital but was moved to a skilled care facility yesterday.
Good news though . . . he had some better kidney numbers yesterday
and it is sunny and beautiful here!
We plan on driving back to Michigan on Thursday the twelfth.
Plus there will be trips back to Iowa as well.
~
Staying true to my blog will be hit and miss for awhile.
I will miss the creating and the visits with each of you.
I will return . . . I promise.
Love and Hugs,
Lynne
