Random 5 Friday . . .

Our snow is melting and the cold is remaining.
I am not complaining one tiny bit,
it feels wonderful to be home
and back with some of my normal.

Looking out from the kitchen window, I saw this site the other day.
What do you see . . .

I like Random 5 Friday.
Thanks Nancy for hosting.
Here are my random five.
~
One:
I came up with this quote the other day,
"I would rather be an old person looking naturally old,
than an old person looking unnaturally young."
There you have it . . .

Two:
I like to say "my children" instead of "my kids".
(Sometimes I slip though and use that kid word, I am not perfect)

Three:
I would rather hear a divorced person
refer to their former spouse as their former
instead of their "x."
(I hear more caring in the word former than I do in "x.")

Four:
I will be watching the Sweet Sixteen games this weekend
and cheering for the Michigan State Spartans.
(MSU plays tonight in case you are interested.)

Five:
I saw this quote a few days ago on The Brick Street Bungalow
(You might want to visit tanna . . . she is a treat!)

"The fact I can plant a seed and it becomes a flower,
share a bit of knowledge and it becomes another's,
smile at someone and receive a smile in return,
are to me, continued spiritual exercises."
LB had been a favorite of mine for many years.
I enjoyed seeing his name and reading this quote..
Have any of you read his book,The Fall of Freddy the Leaf?
~
Thank you for following me,
for leaving me such kind and loving comments
and for being in my life.
Until next time,
Love, Lynne

Hello Mr. Squirrel, my name is Mr. Snake. Yes, I do have a tyroid issue. Why do you ask?

That Leo Buscaglia quote is one of my FAVORITE favorites.
Have not read that book.

I like to be intentional with my wording and hopefully choose my words well most of the time. I agree with your thoughts on "x" .. and I love your quote on wearing your age naturally!
I had heard something similar recently which really resonated with me... and your wording sums it up, simply and perfectly!

I so like the quote you came up with.
I'm not sure what you saw but it sort of reminded me of a weasel on the left and a snail on the right. Weird huh?
Will have to check out Tanna's blog.

Good Afternoon Lynne, I love your quote. I had a look at the photo but I am not sure what I am looking at. I think I will have to go back and take another look.
It is lovely to catch up with you again.
Have a lovely weekend.

I fully agree with your first quote ! Nothing is worse than an old one who wants to look young.
In French we say : They look like High school from behind and museum from the front !

You are just the sweetest and most thoughtful soul, Lynne... So evidenced in your considered reference to your children and others' former spouses. And, thank you for your kind words to me, too. More hugs. ;) blessings ~ tanna

Oh I do love your quotes, both your original and the one from LB. I haven't read that particular book, but I have read some of his others. I am not sure what I am looking at, is it sort of like making animals out of the clouds? Have a blessed weekend. Glad you are getting back to normal and that everyone is doing well.

It's funny how different terms carry different feelings. I'm with you on #1 - but is it possible to look naturally young? - because that's what I really want ;-)

Have a nice weekend!
