Saturday's Critters . . .

We have seen many Goldfinch at our thistle feeders this winter . . .

The Redpoles and Purple Finches must have found a new place for food.
We have not seen them at our feeders for the past two years.

When they are around for a visit they flock in in droves
and feed heartily for days.

How lovely to see the birds close up. You said it's a thistle feeder, do you make it yourself or is it something you can buy where you live ?
We haven't seen the Goldfinch in our garden here in France for a long time, maybe they have all flown over your way :)
Enjoy your weekend.

Hello!:) I would love to see as many birds at my feeders as yours.
The Goldfinch is a lovely bird to see, and you are probably right about the finches and redpoles finding another place.:( You got some great captures.

They are hungry little critters, aren't they? I know you enjoy them so close.

I find the patterns of bird populations to be fascinating. We didn't have many songbirds at our feeders this winter, although I could hear them in the trees. I'm figuring maybe we had some predator birds around. Lately, I've seen many more at the feeders and splashing around in the birdbath because of the open water. They're fun to watch!

Super shots. You've got SO many birds. Did you make the feeders yourself? They look perfect for the little hedge birds to cling onto. Some of the commercial ones out there have metal webbing that's too smooth and doesn't give them enough traction. All the best, Bonny

Now that the ice rink isn't the main backyard focus, it's definitely time to get our yard in order and welcome our feathered friends. Such beautiful pictures!

I envy your picture taking skills. I have tried with my new camera and haven't got the hang of it yet.

How I love watching birds. I've never seen a feeder like that before. It must save a lot of mess on the ground...does it?
I've missed our visits too. I haven't been on the computer much..
Living on pain pills. They last about an hour..then I sit.
Write when you can. I have your picture right here by my head on my bulletin board. :)
big hugs!
