Flower Snips . . .

The weekend began by an invite from friends for dinner at our favorite restaurant.
We don't have a chance to see them often and it was
such fun to catch up on our lives and happenings.

Saturday gave us one more absolutely beautiful sunny day.
In the morning I had some time to tend to the flowers and gardens.

As you know, snipping flowers and making little bouquets is one of my favorite things.
The scissors in the picture above was the one my mom used in her gardens.
The framed picture is one of her postcard sized watercolors.

My Irish guy surprised me yesterday with tickets to see Kinky Boots . . .
What a wonderful, fabulous musical with a tender message indeed.
A must see if you find it playing near you.

Late Saturday I was able to squeeze in a quick mow to the yard.
I do love being on the lawn tractor and mowing.
I have an "off limits" for the mister guy around here,
John Deere and I have a great relationship!

And to top off the day we had a surprise invite
from our neighbors for s'mores and a campfire.
I enjoyed the visit, relaxation plus a sticky face and fingers.

We enjoyed breakfast this morning with my son and his family.
And the day brought some needed rain, it was a perfect time
for reading papers and a little napping.

Monday afternoon my daughter plans to stop by
and I am hoping great grand will be with her too.

All these events, treats and cards
made celebrating seventy six
a very special birthday.

Life is filled with
blessings, goodness, thankfulness.
