Summer Ending . . .

Jack and I took a drive to the big lake
the other night to watch the sun set.
It was a beautiful summer evening.

maybe you'll think that first photo is the best
but almost in the same setting
the second one really spoke to me
I saw  . . .

the beach   the sand
the water

off in a distance
a lighthouse close up
a light house far out

sailboat

park bench
trash barrel

people standing on the edge of the shore

evening clouds
sun setting

summer ending
~
Happy Labor Day
enjoy the day

For me I like the first one best. The 2nd one would be much better if the horizon was straight.(just a thought)

Love them both but for me the 2nd one, has more life.
A good photo to use for a painting , Would you mind if I copy it and try a monochrome water colour ?
I know our evenings are getting shorter & chilly, but the days are still sunny and warm so I'm still hanging onto summer.

Hello Lynne, I like both of the images. First, I really love lighthouses and sunsets. And in the second photo there is so much to see, I like teh silhouettes of the people on the beach. Great post, enjoy your new week ahead!

I am glad to see summer end. I am not into heat. Much more of a cold weather girl. But pictures like this a beautiful.

I can see why you like the second photo, Lynne, but that first one is the one that won my heart. It looks like a painting. I love it!

SO beautiful, both photos...I hope you enjoyed the evening. Sometimes we drive to the beach just to have time alone to chat and it's always wonderful to see the sun setting.

Beautiful photos. It's amazing what one can see beyond the pretty sky and water isn't it?

How sweet that you and your hubby took the drive in order to see the sunset and you were certainly rewarded with two beautiful shots. Happy Labor Day.....

I keep missing the sunset, because it falls behind a bank of clouds at the horizon line every single time.
