November . . .

lovely photo of the causeway from

Whitehall to Montague, Michigan

Montague was my home for many years

Kristin Burmeister, photographer

my mister Irish garden house guy enjoys
creating art pieces from recycled materials
rusted metal piece above, garden bench made from concrete pieces
old stumps and hollowed pieces
more metal and cement pieces
garden house entrance a few pics above
stones in the circle were brought back from Ireland
mister IGH had the garden house built
pastel artist, Michelle Behr-Guinon laid the stone
I was her "go-pher"
photos on the garden house wall are of the stone garden house we tried to copy
we slept in that garden house on our first trip to Ireland
I am thinking of encouraging my IGH guy to build another building
for all the tools , tractor, lawn equipment and such
and then I am going to claim back the garden house
and maybe I will make it my artsy just for play studio
(great idea isn't it)
below is a sculpture my now seventeen year old built
with his grandpa (IGH) when he was around three years old
(love that black grass, so slow growing though, I think it is called mondo grass)
the window below is in the garden house on the north side of the house
I found this window and several others at at garage sale many years ago
the leaves have selttled down but
the brisk winds continue to bring plenty leaves back into the yard
the rakes and garden tractor are put away for the winter
~
in this world where we see so much of what we can not understand or fathom
let us each be our own act of kindness

Lynne, you are a lucky lady to have so many resident artists and their lovely creations decorating your garden!

Oh yes, the garden house is wonderful place for your artsy studio. Your family is very creative. I like the sculptures. I agree acts of kindness can make someone's day! Have a great evening.

I love every piece!

Yep, I would lay claim to that garden house and have him build another. It's beautiful and I think it has your name on it.

I definitely think you have to reclaim the garden house and make a studio for yourself. That would be just heavenly.

Loved seeing your garden art. My Mr France would have carted it all to the local tip. I do love him so much, but we do differ over the rusty old things I collect that he thinks are junk. I'd claim the garden house for somewhere to be able to do all my crafty things in , just the thought of not having to put everything away and being able to shut the door on a place where I could leave work in progress and go back when ever I wanted would be heaven.

Ooooo Get Mr. IGH to work building right away.
Then can I come visit you in the artsy play studio?

Wow! I'm a tad jealous that you have your own Mr. IHG to create such lovely things! And the photo is fabulous. My friend Cathy Russell has a B&B in Whitehall (White Swan Inn) and that was my first experience visiting this area. It's splendid and the color is fabulous!

The fall colors in the first photograph are breathtaking, Lynne. Yes, you should definitely claim the garden house. Can't believe you've been able to keep your hands off it. :-) Way too pretty to use for garden storage. It needs to be a studio or retreat of some sort. What a lovely structure. Heavenly. Mr. IGH is a wonderful sculptor and builder. Such talent! xo

I love that your husband sees beauty where others might just see junk. It's all in how you look at things and use them. Did you see the folks of Paris hugging Muslims in the streets last night? Some with tears streaming down their faces? Many ways to see things..

I love all the interesting garden art that your Mr. has built. And of course, your beautiful stone 'garden house' itself, which would be an amazing studio for you. I think you have a great idea there Lynne and I hope Mr. IGH is on board. :) Have a great weekend. Hugs.

There are tons of really cool looking gardens that can be found online, but I really like this the best. I come from a very Irish family, and we take a lot of pride in our Irish way of decorating. Once I show this to my mother, she will have a new summer project just waiting for us all.
