Turkey Trotting . . .

On Mondays I visit with a elderly friend of mine.

Sometimes it is for lunch or appointments or grocery shopping or puzzles or visits.

We find many things to do and enjoy spending time together.

Each day when I drive into her condo complex I am greeted with the above scene.

Sometimes I find the turkey's trotting across the road

and sometimes I find them right up close to the condos.

(The first picture was taken this past week and the second photo a few weeks ago.)

And the other day during my morning walk near where I live, I found some

Critter Tracks

Could be rabbits, birds, the wandering yellow neighbor cat

or the many squirrels we see around here.

and way up in those branches you'll find just that

one of the neighborhood squirrels

I am trying to imagine seeing a flock of turkeys! Squirrels, quail, deer and geese we have aplenty, but I have never seen a turkey running around!

It's interesting spotting the critters in the winter with their tracks. I don't know much about which is which but I always enjoy looking at the tracks near my bird feeder -- and recognizing that many of them are not birds!

I love the photos of the tracks in the snow!

Wow, that squirrel is well camouflaged. I had to really look to find him. We've been seeing a lot of wild turkeys around the countryside here. None in town yet, but lots of quail. They're pretty cute. Enjoy the weekend, Lynne! Hugs, Nancy

I am thinking bunnies. They sort of hop and use the length of their hind legs..so I'm betting bunnies. Searching for something green to nibble on, I betcha! :) Hi, sweet friend. How are you?

How nice of you to visit, I am sure your friend must cherish those days! Turkeys, huh? Well, none around here, but that would be a neat sight!

Good morning Lynne! It is neat to see the wild turkeys. They seem to have made a come back around here too. I have never seen them so close to houses though, only in the woods.
Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Sunday, enjoy your new week!

I have a friend who is unable to get out, and like you, I always enjoy our visits, and wish I had more time to go and see her. It's nice that the turkey's are there to greet you -- I saw our flock of them for the first time, in a long time, on Friday and they are always fun to see!

Enjoy your Sunday!

Squirrels are fascinating, racing about industriously seeking any little gourmet the pieces they can find.
We don't have them in my neck of the woods.
How lovely to spend time with your elderly friend, I can imagine how much she looks forward to your visits.

So cool to see the wild turkeys...several yrs ago, living in the center of town, a wild turkey was in my yard. I need to find the post I did, featuring THE TURKEY TROT and repost it...
Love seeing your mystery tracks..

Turkeys are fun to watch, aren't they? You got some great photos--they move fast, so they're hard to photograph! The tracks look like they might be a mix of rabbit, human, and turkey tracks (maybe a few squirrels in there, too?). Fun post!

We had two deer run through the backyard yesterday afternoon. We will have them in the morning once in a great while, there is a pond behind us, but not usually in the middle of the day.

I did hear back from the Muskegon Chronicle gal, so the email is still active. Thanks so much!
