Bookshop Meet Up . . .

I am having problems with posts again.
Same post from earlier, different title.
Let's see if it works . . .
i am sorry for the mess up . . .

Let's Meet Up Here . . .

A few days ago I started to look though my saved files on my iPad . .
I use my iPad almost totally these days . . . this new pad is my third . . .
Mister Irish is hooked too . . . he is on his second . . .
(There I go again . . . getting off track . . .)

As I started to say . . . in my file finds . . . I found this piece, written by my friend
Bonnie, of Living Life . . . and thought wouldn't it be fun if we bloggers
who love to read could some how, some way . . .
plan a meet up at this bookstore in Jackson, Mississippi . . .

OH MY, this bookstore is on my Bucket List as of today, March 4, 2017 . . .

Below . . . you will find something I found on Bonnie's blog, many months ago.
And then found it again a few days ago when I was looking through files.

A bookstore named LEMURIA.

It got me thinking . . .
I sent a note to Bonnie, with what she had written on her blog, and then this morning
I went on a search of this bookstore . . . LEMURIA . . .

I love books, reading, discovering, reading more, libraries, bookstores and did I say . . . BOOKS.

And as I thought about it, and saw FB photos of the bookstore . . .
I thought, wouldn't it be fun
to have a meet up there with reader, blogger, friends . . .

Now . . . not sure if that can ever happen but it sure sounds like fun!
This book store has many events . . . features . . . book signings and more.

**********
Here is Bonnie's piece from her blog . . .

My very favorite bookstore?
Lemuria is in Jackson, Mississippi. I would love to sit here and expound on all the Richard Russo attributes of this wonderful place, but Barry Moser says it all in the very beginning
of his celebration of Lemuria.
"A few years ago I was writing a speech and wanted to quote a line that Lt. Col. "Bull Meacham says in the film The Great Santini. I had not read Pat Conroy's book at that time and wanted to know that what I was about to quote was in the book, not just in the movie. Now understand that I live in one of the most bookish places in the country, home to Smith College, Amherst College, Hampshire College, Mt. Holyoke College, and the main campus of the University of Massachusetts, all within ten miles of each other. But when I started looking around the area for a copy of Conroy's book, I couldn't find one. Nary a single copy was in any bookstore---new or used, big box or independent---in the valley. So I decided to call John Evans. John owns one of the finest bookstores in America: Lemuria Books in Jackson, Mississippi, which specializes in books by Southern writers and all manner of things Southern. I called Johnny and asked if he had a copy. His response?

"Yeah, Barry, sure I do. You want it in paperback, hardback, or signed first edition?"

My own copy of My Bookstore actually was purchased at Lemuria, after a slight reminder to Santa it was missing Christmas morning. The clerk not only made sure Santa received a copy signed by Mr. Moser, she marked it with one of their wonderful bookmarks assuring us it was one of the best articles in the book. A point I concur with wholeheartedly.

We always schedule a stop to browse when passing through Jackson.

Children must love visiting this bookstore . . .
This weekend the attention is on Dr. Suess . . .

These next two books will be on my "to read" list . . .
I would enjoy being at each of these book signings.
The book signings won't be possible for me but I look forward to the reads . . .

#1-The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

#2-Tangles and Plaques by Susan Cushman

I know this was long and a bit busy . . . but thought of so many of you readers out there . .
and thought you'd enjoy visiting this bookstore.

I still think it would be a fun Blogger Readers Meet Up place . . .

If we can't meet/visit in person . . .
just Google, LEMURIA, Jackson, MI and you'll find more info.

(Using Blogo to post these days,
only way I know to show you Bonnie's blogspot link is by doing it this way)

There is nothing like a great bookstore. One of my favorites is Tattered Cover in Denver. We've not been out there for years, but what a wonderful place. And this one sounds a lot like it.

Hello, Lynne! It does sound like an awesome bookstore. I use my ipad mostly for reading my ebooks. I have joined my local library and I am able to download free library ebooks for loan. Thank you for linking up and sharing your post. Happy Sunday, enjoy your day and new week ahead!

Wouldn't that be wonderful?? There is nothing like a good bookstore. They seem to be withering away with the use of electronic reading devices. I still read from a book. Just love the feel of them. I think that may make me a dinosaur. LOL! Perhaps one of these days.... blessings and hugs ~ tanna

I must confess I don't like reading books digitally. I've tried it and it just doesn't appeal to me. I like the feel of a book in my hands. Bookstores are fun to explore, but there's nothing like the public library where books are free, and now that I'm decluttering I especially appreciate being able to return them. Happy Sunday, Lynne. xo

I'm with Cranberry Morning...Tattered Cover is marvelous and well worth a destination journey. Libraries and bookstores...doesn't get much better!

There is nothing quite like a great bookstore. I can spend hours in an average one.....days in a great one.

I just met with my girlfriends this weekend at the bookstore. We browsed, we drank tea and we laughed. Great day...

That looks like my kind of bookstore. (OK, any bookstore is my kind of bookstore). But that's an extra nice sounding one.

I feel your frustration with the computer and posting. Hope all's well by now!
