I would not be true to myself if I didn’t say something. My heart is breaking for mothers, fathers, grandparents, families, children, teens, friends . . . in the most recent Parkland school tragedy.
Listen to those words, “most recent.” My heart breaks with a fury of how this keeps happening again and again and again and again. Looking the other way won’t help. Saying it won’t happen here, won’t help.
I think of children, young people, my beautiful, precious grandchildren, great grandchildren.
I can not bear to even fathon it all . . .
It is apparent to me that a mental health issue was part of this tragedy BUT so was an atomatic assault weapon. Need I say more . . . I don't even know how to talk about it. I am disappointed, frustrated and raw with grief . . .
In one second, minute, hour, day . . . It is going to take WE to change this path . . .

*****
We have had bunches of snow on the ground around here . . . over night the rains came.
And we have gone from white snow to puddles and mud . . . and dreary . . .
Temperatures below 32 degrees to 55 degrees F when i looked early this morning.
I need some cheer, how about you . . .
We have been thinking green, Doolin, upper west coast, Giant’s Causeway the past few weeks . . .
Just sayin’ . . . we’ve been thinkin’ . . .
And today my two watercolor painting friends will be here for a painting afternoon . . .
We will be thinking green and pink, maybe yellow . . . bunnies, flowers, plantings and things . . .
This adorable watercolor bunny was painted by an artist, not sure who . . . isn’t he/she yummy!
I baked some cookies too . . .
I am giving you a giggle . . . look at my grip on the phone as I took my picture.
Taking a picture of myself is not my thing . . . but it was a sunny day last friday so I gave it a try..
My son said, why didn’t you use the selfie stick . . . duh . . . never thought of it!
I promise more “paint day” pictures later in the week . . . you know . . . when the paint dries . . .

Your paintings are gorgeous. You are doing so well. Selfie stick...no need you did great.
In Canada, we do have gun control and I am happy about that. enough said. HUGS B
Hello, Lynne! My heart goes out to all the Florida students, victims and their friend & families! I do think we should have more gun control, the AR 15 and automatic weapons should be banned. A trip to Ireland is just what you need. I would like to get away too. The news has me so depressed. I love your pretty watercolors and the cute bunny. Have a happy day!
Your look beautiful! Love the bunny.
So many beautiful paintings together!!
I love your painting style..Always loved watercolors anyway..You look great pretty lady..Nothing to giggle at!! My heart goes out to the Fla students and their families..Is there an answer?? I had a wonderful day today..It was 77...Back in the 30's soon...nuts!! Love your Bunnies...
You look fab!! I am no good at selfies, though I take one from time to time. As a teacher I can say the current times are trying on the soul. We had measures in place at my school and things are changing again. LOVE your painting talent.
The latest school shooting, like all of them, is so tragic. I don't know what the answer is but I pray a start to a solution will begin soon. My heart goes out to all the families & friends who lost their loved ones.
Oh, Lynne, Ireland maybe? I have been to county Clare and enjoyed visiting the Burren & the Cliffs of Moher. Oh the beauty of them!
The watercolors are beautiful, Lynne.
Very nice drawings, Lynne. You are quite talented--in so many ways! Wow! Regarding the school shooting, I couldn't have said it better than you did, and I couldn't agree with you more. Hugs.
You all are such fabulous painters, so impressed. That was like the 18th shooting on school property this year. Why are we so slow to take action? Why isn't there more love in the world?
I just keep thinking about something I learned in a Psych class I took years ago; that whenever there was a suicide on a soap opera, there was an increase in suicides. I cannot help but believe our inundation with morbid news is taking its toll along with many, many other issues. I've grown up with guns. It's not the guns that are the problem. That said, I am FOR strict regulation, not banning. I believe media/social media contribute greatly to this catastrophic problem we have. The problem is deep and wide in the hearts/minds of our people. I don't know how to begin to change that... you cannot legislate accountability, character, responsibility, compassion or respect. It needs to begin in each of our homes.
On a brighter note, I love your painting and can't wait to see what you and your friends created yesterday afternoon! And, oh, the green! yes!

Oh Lynne, I echo your thoughts. Young students just starting out on life’s path. These senseless murders affect so many people whose lives will never be the same again. When will the politicians do something other than offer empty platitudes.
On a lighter note your paintings are delightful. I went to a painting workshop in my village a couple of years ago, did quite well and told myself to do more but I never got round to it. I’m hoping to pick up a paint brush in the summer :-)
Oh Lynne, it's all so sad. My theory -- mentally ill people (or just mad, mean people) can't shoot other people if they can't get a gun easily. It's a hand-in-hand partnership.
And I loved your selfie and the paintings and cookies -- all of it! It's a good time to be with the paint.
