Ordinary Coming Alive . . .

Make The Ordinary Come Alive

Do not ask your children
to strive for extraordinary lives.
Such striving may seem admirable,
but it is a way of foolishness.
Help them instead to find the wonder
and the marvel of an ordinary life.
Show them the joy of tasting
tomatoes, apples and pears.
Show them how to cry
when pets and people die.
Show them the infinite pleasure
of the touch of a hand.
And make the ordinary come alive for them.
The extraordinary will take care of itself.

The Parent's Tao Te Ching: Ancient Advice for Modern Parents
by William Martin

I recently came across some readings by the above.
This “reading” has been singing in my heart ever since.
I hope it makes your heart sing too

So very true. I have heard this before. Worth hearing every single day.

Hello, Lynne. I love this reading...it makes so much sense to me. Precious are the encounters we have in life's ordinariness! Thank you for sharing. Hugs to you!

I say Amen to that sentiment Lynne. I am just about to go to Australia for 6 weeks but have all my post scheduled in (bit of a marathon that was!) Unfortunately I will not be commenting while I am away but as often as I can will look at bloggers posts.
