Driving through Iowa, we saw miles and miles of them. I'm guessing they are busy today. The wind has picked up at our house. Let's hope the heat goes away with the wind.

I so wish we as a country could embrace wind energy.

Love the photos Lynne!

Nice shots. It doesn't look like very high land but I guess the open land allows the breezes through.

I only know of one of those windmills in our area but we have plenty of the kind that pump water. Pretty peaceful pictures here.

Hi Lynne, Are those windmills near you? We saw so many in Indiana, not many in the Chicagoland area... Hope you are taking it easy...and enjoying the great indoors! Have a great weekend. Love, Penny

Pretty scenes from your drive. The windmills are popping up all over, a nice green source of energy. Lovely photos, have a happy weekend!

They are very graceful looking machines, can you hear them when they are moving?

these are lovely photos-they are scattered all over our countryside-they call them 'éolien' in french, we are seeing more and more smaller versions on homes too.

Lovely views across to the turbines. We don't have any here yet, but there is a move afoot to bring them in for more sustainable power. I like the look of them!

Beautiful photo's with those nice colors. We have those windmills here too, they are even standing in the sea.

I am not a fan of those turbines but they are probably very necessary. Our desert here in California is COVERED with them..and they are terrible looking. It's what you see covering out beautiful desert on the way to Palm Springs out here.
Also covering the lovely hillsides between Riverside and Bakersfield.
HORRIBLE! At least yours are not all close together blocking the view of anything pretty!!
