May I Be The First To Say . . .

it has been mighty
cold here in Michigan
36 degrees
saturday morning
one phrase
brrrrrr

even so the
Muskegon Irish Music Festival
was in full swing
we spent friday and saturday there
(link will show you more)

we made a purchase of an Irish flag
at one of the Irish markets
to celebrate jack's Irish heritage

we arrived home friday eve
and hung the flag
for the rest of the weekend

 earlier saturday morning
i clicked some pictures
around our yard and home

loved this shot of the sunshine
through the garden sprinklers

the final few hibiscus are showing their blooms
along with the taupe grass to the right
love that burned look amongst the color

miss cone flower persists to the end

the weather stayed cool
the sunshine flourished until sunday
the festival was wonderful

photo from Muskegon Irish Musical Festival web site

there was
entertainment for all ages
plenty of adult beverages
exceptional music
all the best irish eats
kilts, jewelry, sweaters, hoodies
activities for the children
Irish dance fesh
the highland games
and even a tea room

there is something to be said
for the happy Irish
having the best time ever

A chilly morning for you. What was your high temp for the day? Did it require a sweater all day?

We are both having a taste of fall this weekend. Somehow, though, a festival with eating and dancing is just a little better with a nip in the air!

Lynne, I like your new flag and the lawn photos. The little one from the festival is adorable. Sounds like a fun time for sure! It has been chilly in the mornings. Yesterday was a chilly 46.

Have a happy day and week ahead!

Cool nights and sunny clear days can put make anyone a bit happier. But maybe not as much as a good Irish festival... or pretty pictures from the garden.

We turned on the furnace - my house was too chilly for me! Your gardens still look so pretty :-)

you've an exceptional garden-and I do love the photo of little Irish boy...I walked in shorts and light cotton blouse today, so still a long shot from cold.

Dear Lynne, Bring on the cold...but then I am built more like a polar bear. You swispy types need more sweaters and thick socks. ;-) Great snuggling weather too. A little sad to see the summer end, but I was built for fall and winter! Love, Penny

You lucky lady, you. Here in Alabama we have our second crop of cotton, soybeans almost ready to harvest and new corn coming on. I miss the seasons. Nuff said. Enjoy!
