Yes that work can be very tiring but I'm sure you are glad you did it. Now you have lots of wood for the winter fires.

OH MY! What a simply gorgeous yard you have. And I thought I had a lot to clean up! :) My tiny yard is ...is..nothing to all that you have to do. Just so lovely and lush!!

A neighbor helped Hubby take down some branches from a tree we have that hangs over the driveway. The derecho storm that went through our area a year ago had done much damage to the tree. Still have to take more of it out. It's a lot of work for the men in our lives, isn't it? We would like to top some trees to get a better view of the mountains... but that's for another year. Did the friend own the lift they used or did they rent it?

That is a big and dangerous job. I'm glad the men got it done safely. It's good to take care of these things to prevent limbs from falling onto the house or vehicles or people! Oh my. I've never seen hydrangeas cut back like that before. I hope they make a comeback next spring! It looks like you might have some nice campfires this fall with all the tree trimming. Someday we'll have a fire pit. It's something I'd love to have and I can see it coming next year. ;)

What a feeling of accomplishment you and Jack must have after all your hard work,Lynne. Always feels so good to have chores like this done. Hope the rest of your weekend has been relaxing.

That's a full day of work for you, bet you will feel back to normal in a day or so.

So why did you cut the hydrangea down so far? Curious.

Oh, gosh--we need to do that, too! We keep saying we need to get an arborist in. Your property is gorgeous! I love the last photo--the landscaping is perfect!

I hurt all over just thinking about all that work. Take good care of yourself Lynne.

I guess I didn't realize what a lovely area you have there Lynne -- it will be cool to see how your trimming will change the growth of some of other trees/plants. :)

I've decided it's way too much work for this - getting older by the minute body-!! Takes twice as long to do half the work! I'm ready to downsize- but hubbs is not ready to admit it yet!! Looks beautiful Lynne!!

That's some serious yard work. I'd be nervous watching all that equipment. I hope Monday is a quieter day for you ALL (including snickers).

It may be a lot of work but your yard is beautiful with those magnificent trees.

Wow, you are keeping busy, cleaning up the tree debris. I would be in the house praying that nothing falls on the roof. I am sure you are glad it is all done now. The last shot of your yard is lovely. Have a great evening!

Time to celebrate with a glass of wine! More sunlight means a great opportunity to add more garden beds. :o)

Wow, you guys do things in a big way...if we can't reach it with the pole saw thingy, we call the professionals! It is so satisfying when it gets done. Then we just have to wait for all the leaves to fall! Rest my friend. Love, Penny

Oh Lynne,
And I thought some of my trees were tall! No wonder you needed a lift to get to the tops! Every few years the electric company sends out a team to trim the trees running by the power lines...these guys climb up my big trees just like monkeys!
Take time to rest after all your hard work!

So now I am wondering should I be cutting my hydrangeas back each year? They're still blooming at the moment, all have turned pink.
