Dear Friends . . .
Three years ago today
Three years ago today
I sat down with my friend Babs
and asked her to help me create a blog.
She had been doing her
blog for awhile and had met some wonderful people
so I asked her to help me launch my own.
I wanted some of the same kind of fun and friends!
Babs, Barbie, Barb
asked me what I wanted to name my blog
and the first thing that came into my head was,
Irish Garden House
The garden house you see in the 2011 post is
where we slept on our first trip to Ireland.
The main house is behind and up the hill a bit.
They each overlook Bantry Bay, a wonderful view.
Hiking in the hills behind the house is soooo enjoyable.
On one visit I brought home small stones from the hills and we have them
mixed into the stone work on the garden house we built next to our home.
Mr. IGH hubs had the frame built and a friend and I laid the stone work.
You can see the orange Crocosmia in bloom next to the road.
We feel so fortunate to have visited Ireland three times
and look forward to hopefully return some day.

Happy Blog-A-Versary and Happy Mother's Day!
Absolutely, hiking is one of the best adventures! The beauty of your blog reminded me of friendship, traveling and exploring the world with someone you love most. I’m grateful to hear where the irishgarden came from and because of that, I came here! The vintage garden house is exquisite!

Happy bloggiversary! What a beautiful garden house, and it is fun to see how your blog got it's name!
Lynne ~ what a treat to see the little garden house and the story behind it !
Happy bloggoversay :))
It has been raining here so much this spring ( Western PA ) that I've been telling myself that my grass is as green as Ireland's ( as I mow it every 3-4 days to keep up! ) and I am right, now that I see your picture! :)
Happy anniversary, Lynne. I'm so glad you decided to start blogging. I always enjoy your prose and photos. And now I know the story behind Irish Garden House. I love it. Enjoy your day, my friend. ~ Nancy
P.S. Love, love, love your new blog header. :)
I am so glad that you found your voice and started blogging. I have loved and admired your story, the twists and turns of your life and how you became the amazing, wonderful, generous, supportive and thoughtful person you are. Did I mention smart and funny? Graceful and lovely... that too. Keep writing and I will keep reading my friend. Love , Penny
Happy Anniversary Lynne!
Lynne, is sounds like you began so beautifully. I was so insecure and had never met anyone with a blog...and had no idea what one was until I accidently stumbled upon "The Little Red House" while looking for something else on line and began to read it.
I've really enjoyed it...and meeting such wonderful people like you.
You've been so much fun to know. It amazes me how much you can grow to care for people you have never met in person and very likely never will.
You are so dear to me.
Mona
I can't believe it's been 3 yrs!! I remember that beginning so well !! It's been wonderful following your journey thru blogging!!

Oh my goodness, I've always wondered where the name came from...now I know.
I love hearing how blogs are named.
