out and about for my daughters birthday
took the "fast road' on the way home
but we scooted off at the first exit
to get away from the mega
fourth of July traffic
we ended up on a road I had never been on
riding by it for almost forty years
riding by it for almost forty years
and
lo and behold
look at what we found
I hollered
what is that
and we came to a stop
amazing stone pillars
very old looking
probably some kind of former fence markings
probably some kind of former fence markings
spaced evenly
thirty to forty pillars
my imagination was running wild
would love to know more
mister irish plans to search it out
it seems like when you least expect
something new and unexpected
is just around the corner
precisely what happened
to mr Irish garden house guy and me
there he was
around the corner
one day in July
several years ago
amazing

and to make things interesting
across the road
there was another great fence

don't ever hesitate to step off the beaten track
you never know what you might find

and just in case you might have noticed

has been at the
Blue Ridge Salon
for a bit of a

Like you, I love making a turn I have never been on before. You do find surprising things and your fences today are lovely.
That's fun. xoJenny
I love to take the back roads, it seems there so many neat sights to see. Great fence finds, looking forward to seeing your new "do".
Have a happy Thursday!
This looks like such a beautiful place! It's been ages since I've been to the Hudson Valley but my husband and I were just talking about how we wanted to go!

oh, i LOVE those cement fence posts! so neat! :)
Aren't you having fun exploring and having special outings.
Oh goodness, LOVE those stone fence posts. Where are they located at? I might have to check those out :)
That looks like a solid fence Lynne.
Interesting find. Let us know if you find out anymore about it. Have a good day.
It's amazing how many interesting things we all pass by on a daily basis, but never see. What a great find! You're reminding me to get off the main road every now and then.
Yay for you!
What fun to find such a treasure.
It will be great to find out what they were put there for, and by whom.
It all sounds so intriguing.
It reminds me of a fence at Broken Arrow ranch, some miles from here.
They put up cement posts, with rock imbedded in them. Then, they strung ranch wire in between the posts. Lots of work!!
So, is this month your anniversary??
Enjoy your evening, my friend.

Those pillars are very cool! Beautiful white fence!
Oh, I love it/them...you know, we have traveled our county and the one next to it over and over and still find new things! And one or two we have never been able to find again!
So true! It's so cathartic to visit new places--especially those that are off the beaten path.
Those pillars are so cool!
I love an intriguing find like that - where you least expect it. :)
Ohhh...that was interesting. What an interesting thing to come across!
What a neat drive that was!
It is fun to explore the back roads away from the everyday traffic. The fence and posts were just waiting to be discovered. Nice finds.
