I found this quote, at the beginning of our visit to the memorial.
It was scrolled on a long wall behind
a bronze statue of FDR in his wheelchair.
winding roads
weekend drives
colors have peaked
hard frost last night
leaves are falling

more trip photos on their way
'til then

Lovely fall photo, and inspirational quote from Eleanor Roosevelt.
Oh, that we could have a pair like that now!
Lovely quote. It's so beautiful this time of year. I just love fall.
That anonymous quote wasn't test from me.missy
I remember how much my mother loved him (and even thought he was good looking...which I have never been able to figure that one out)and Mr. Sweet's mom had a large picture of him, hanging on her living room wall. I have mixed feelings about him but I feel sure he never intended the welfare programs he started to end up abused like they are today.
I think Eleanor ran the country when he was recovering....I also have mixed feelings about her. But, I know she visited troops when there was snow and cold...so she must have had a good heart.
Hi Lynne,
So much to catch up on with you... I need to read through your past posts :)
Love this post, and it makes me think of our daughter. She really has a respect for Eleanor. She thinks she was the bomb.
I'm so glad that you had such a nice time, and that you saw so many neat places.
Happy belated anniversary!!
You two are wonderful!!!

Oh, Lynn, I LOVE DC!! It is my favorite place to visit... all the memorials... all the history... AND THE WASHINGTON NATIONAL CATHEDRAL! Yes, I took THREE tours of it last time I was there (you get a different docent every time... and different folks tell a bit more or less about different things... ). Happy Belated Anniversary! My daughter and SIL's is the 19th. A good time for celebrating! blessings ~ tanna
Love this quote from Eleanor. My drive to and from work has been lovely lately. I wish this colorful season would last a bit longer!
I am presently reading a book about Eleanor Roosevelt. It is a bit text bookish, but hope to become engaged soon. Your autumn looks beautiful. Hugs, Bonnie
