well here is my story a few days late
we were invited to my daughter/son in laws for
Thanksgiving Day
there were eight of us
absolutely wonderful day
time to visit and relax, everyone helping, lots of advice, suggestions, laughter
and more advice
the gravy saga was the most fun, the two "mothers" who know it all
whipped up the best gravy ever
(smiling)
grandson Jordon mashed up the potatoes, his mom helped a bit
delicious, oh my, mega butter and sour cream
we each made and brought some favorite foods for the feast
the star of the show though was the turkey
prepared, made by son in law Mike
his natural, brined, bacon laced turkey was the best
EVER EVER
you know how it is when everyone gets together, not much picture taking
so this is all I have
my heart is full of thankfulness

Good Evening Lynne, I certainly understand about the lack of photographs as you were enjoying each and every moment of your Thanksgiving.... you were living in the moment, which is as it should be.
I smiled when you said the two mothers made the best ever gravy..... it's all those years of practice.... how many Thanksgivings have you hosted?? It almost makes us professional gravy makers.

I didn't take many pix this year -- but boy, did I have fun! And you're right -- best turkey ever! Maybe because it's the best company ever!
We had a small holiday this year, too, Lynne. We did have my great niece here though and at 15 months, she is adorable!! Better than turkey! ;)

That bird looks amazing! I hear brining is the way to go. And of course you have to have good gravy to cover those mashed potatoes and dressing! Glad you had a nice holiday!

I am so happy you had a wonderful day. So did we! We are very fortunate people when you look around. To me, family is everything! But..so are friends and you have been a joy to know, Lynne. I imagine many, many kitchens had similar happenings going on in their kitchens and homes. I DO love Thanksgiving! :) and you of course! Right behind me is your Christmas card! I LOVE that picture..but then I've told you that. You both looked wonderful in your Thanksgiving picture!!

I can feel the joy in your words, Lynne. Straight from the heart. You and Mr. IGH always photograph well and this photo is no exception. The photo of you and Jordon mashing potatoes is priceless. I adore the photo of the older gentleman in the gorgeous plaid shirt. And last but not least, the "Family Rules" sign sums it all up. Wonderful.
