Christmas Is Packed Up Once Again
Tucked Back Into The Walk In Attic
WHEW
I spent most of my time “putting Christmas together”
and “packing up Christmas”
getting lost in the memories.
This year was no different.
I was gifted the
Let Them Be Little
piece a few years ago
the picture is of “my littles”

Let Your Children Enjoy Being Little
Do any of you find it to be quite the task to sort, toss, keep!
I had great intentions of sorting through, getting rid of some things.
I did, but only one box the size of a “bread box.”
Parting with the Yodeling Pickle was no effort.

Mine is done! It’s a big job right ?!
I have an awful time parting with things. I did fill a charity bag and a box today while Rick and the kids were working on the kitchen (because I was banished) and there's a box to sort through that will no doubt yield more. Two bags of trash. (And who knows what from the kitchen stuff.) But anything personal just kills me, making that decision.
Actually I don't get lost in memories from Christmas decorations. My Christmas is filled with memories of my parents who died around that time. So when I clean out Christmas, I don't mind discarding stuff. I keep my Christmas minimal - it works better for me. My Christmas got clean up around the 30th. I love having my New Year be free of Christmas stuff. Like a fresh start.
I have been pretty good about minimizing some things - but still have much more than I need. My holiday decorating was somewhat sparse, this year - so many things never even coming out of the closet where all the Christmas decorations are kept. So, I guess, I haven't quite mastered the art of getting rid of things. I can only imagine what that yodeling pickle might be! - LOL!! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas and New Year - 2020... hard to believe!
NEXT YEAR I'll sort through all the Christmas things we have. I didn't get it all out this year, and what I had, the stockings, etc., still seemed to fill the house with the spirit of Christmas, and that's what it's all about.
It is a good feeling to have it all put away though, isn't it? I appreciated that I was so organized and put everything away so neatly last year, it made it that much more special to see it again this year.
Still in process, and yes! It is quite a process. I kept things on the simple side this year for various reasons. Time to move ahead toward lighter days!
I get you on the packing up. Everything brings back great memories that I don't think would stir anyone but me. I smiled when you mentioned Baraboo. I once rode with a boyfriend (when I was eighteen) up there on his motorcycle. We camped and dived into a lake(is there one there?) to bathe and wash our hair!! Memories...
Happy New Year to you, Lynne. So glad to have you as a friend in the last year and now!
Jane ❤️
You're way ahead of me, Lynne! I took down the "decor' on Christmas night...but the trees are still up in all their glory. This week. Maybe...hope you're feeling well!
When we moved here 5 years ago, it was with the intent to downsize. Little did i know that 6 months later, i would be dealing with all these medical challenges. I could probably let go of the pickle too!🤭
Happy 2020
Oh crikey Lynne ... thats a bit of a sore subject ...... I have bags of Christmas decorations up in the loft and only use a few of them .... the others need throwing out but its such a horrid job. The pickle thing looks rude !!!!!!!!! haha !!
Hope you are now back to 100 % and are feeling well Lynne. XXXX
