Picking Up Sticks . . .

Have you ever played Pick Up Sticks?
I haven't played it for a long time.
It is very simple, easy to play
especially if you have great eye hand coordination.

Today I discovered a new Pick Up Sticks version.
While Jack read the paper and
Snickers snoozed in the sun
I went outdoors to enjoy a beautiful blue sky day.

During the winter, well, let me correct that,
not much winter has been happening around here.
In the past few months
 I have gathered sticks
from the lawn and
placed them near the fire pit.
In the past few days we have had a siege
of strong winds,
thus sticks and branches everywhere.
So guess what, I played Pick Up Sticks today.

I loved
 being out in the
fresh air
sunny day
and
frankly
I like projects
and totally enjoyed
accomplishing
some of the spring clean up.

The fire pit managed to get a work out
as I burned several very large
piles of sticks, branches and small logs.

I was also able check to see
if any of my favorite plants
were peeking up through the ground.

It seems so early for things to be showing themselves.
I saw the first green of poppies, hyacinths and usually my first to bloom,
anemone, or more commonly called, wind flower.

Today's weather was fabulous.
Let's hope frosty days
won't come our way
to freeze the buds and flowers
from our fast emerging plants

Snickers is hoping spring is here to stay!

Visit my friend Misha at her
front porch in the mountains
and take a peek at her
horse, dog, cat kids.
She has a fun giveaway
for the lucky person.

enjoy a fabulous week

I think Snickers is just the cutest little pup!

A few week ago, I did a lot of burning too. Like you, more sticks have fallen and I need to get back out there.

You look wonderful, Lynne!

Snickers is such a sweetie! I love your firepit area. You must enjoy it a lot in summer. I always enjoy getting out around the yard and picking up sticks too. We still have lots of snow on the lawn so it will be a while before I can do that. It's a beautiful sunny day here and about 50 F. Hugs, Pamela

I love to see spring popping up all over blogland. I live in Southern California so I have to enjoy your beautiful bulbs as the weather just doesn't get cool enough for them where I am. I am your newest follower and I look forward to seeing your garden come to life. Patty

Sounds like spring has sprung. If the blasted wind would quit I would do the same thing.

What a satisfying and lovely day! there is something almost primitive about enjoying a bonfire! Snickers looks hilarious in that first picture! :D

You look adorable! Glad to see someone is out picking up their winter sticks.... our back lawn is a mess with them, we drag them away and the dogs haul them back... sigh.... a fire pit may be the answer!

I love your floral pictures. You have a knack for it.
I enjoyed the picture of you in front of the outdoor fire. I miss all that. Guess I have to wait until it warms up a bit, even though the winter has not been all that bad.
