Irish Garden House . . .

May 2012
~~~
I began my blog one year ago..
My first entry is below.
The garden house in the photo inspired me to name my blog
Irish Garden House
imagine a gardening shed
complete with gardening tools
rocky concrete floor on a slant
ladders watering cans and such
picture narrow steps
leading to a tiny loft
a bed with a small table
a window looking out over a bay
which would be Bantry Bay in
County Cork Bantry Ireland
on our first trip
we slept in the garden house
we went to the mainhouse
for shower food visits friends
it was
over the moon
perfect
dark as dark inside
until the moon lightened the sky
and the stars shown with brilliance
the
sounds
memories
 ring in my ears
This is what I wrote in my first entry.
~ ~ ~
This vintage Irish garden house belongs to
friends of ours and is located near the main house
which overlooks Bantry Bay Ireland.
The vistas of rich green Irish landscape,
the view of the bay and Atlantic Ocean in the distance,
plus the beauty of the orange Crocosmia is awe inspiring.
This is one life chapter of "where it all began . . . "
and I look forward to sharing more photos and inspirations
with you in my recently created May 2011 blog.
The year has been more than I ever dreamed it could be.
I have met such wonderful people in each of you who follow me.
There are many, many who don't follow, yet I lurk in, sign on to follow,
read, comment and learn about your life and feel I have met you too.
There is something authentic and real about blogging.
I find I can pour out my soul, say what is on my mind.
Sometimes I post a few days in a row.
Sometimes I go days without doing so.
Blogging has given me a chance to create,
to write, to say what I feel, to be honest.
To include what I want, to share my family,
to talk about my life, to include pictures too.
I can remember months ago before my blog,I would often say,
I was searching for community.
Recently listening to a video that friends of Sara, Gitzen Girl
posted on her site, summed up thoughts of community for me.
By the way, click on Sara and go there and listen.
If you didn't know her, you will catch a glimpse of her essence through the video.
Sara was a gift beyond gift.
This social media we are part of is another form of community.
We talk with one another and share our life and interests.
We support each other when things aren't going smoothly.
We share photos, videos and a bit of our history.
We laugh, we sometimes cry together.
We discuss our views and agree and disagree.
we are community
thank you my friends
for being part of my life and
 allowing me to be a part of yours
what a wonderful world
Lynne..that is just so moving...I almost feel as if I was being a voyeur when reading about your deep feelings! I have only been blogging a few weeks and someone said to me that it was almost like having a diary that I could go back and read at a later date. I know I have never really kept a diary...especially one with pictures, but blogging seems much more than that as there is a deep feeling of friendship and commitment to each other. I would love to follow you and join in with this part of your journey?? Joan
Hey Lynne, I think we humans have a need to express ourselves. Some do it through dance...some through song...some through acting and some through writing..and others through photography and so on and so on. In blog land we are able to express ourselves, share our lives, motivate, inspire, learn, educate, build friendships, share interests, so many things. Why everyone isn´t blogging is beyond me but I am glad you are and I´m glad you found your way over to my part of cyberworld and stopped in and said hi! Holding my coffee cup high and wishing you another enjoyable year of blogging ahead of you! Hugs from Amy@Eventyrhus in Norway <3
Congratulations on your one year blog anniversary. I started one year ago last January for a similar reason. It is such a nice way for people with many things in common to connect. It's so wonderful to meet people from all over the world and become blog friends! From one of yours - Lana
What a lovely photo! Ireland, land of my Grandfather. This is going down as one of my all time favorite posts! I feel exactly the same as you. It has brought our world closer. It's too bad more men don't blog..perhaps ..just perhaps it could help to change our world.
Dear Lynne, Happy Anniversary dear one. You have made so many friends, being one yourself. There's a quote that I love, "Sometimes you gotta create what you want to be part of...", and that you have. Irish Garden House is a place to feel loved and welcomed. Thanks for letting us be a part of it! Love, Penny
Doesn't the time fly by so fast. One year!! Happy Anniversary.
This July I am coming up on my second year anniversary. I started blogging during a difficult time in my life. It helped me in so many ways to work through difficult ideas and to recognize the wonderful life I had - the good and the bad.
And I have discovered some wonderful blogger!!
Like you.
Hello Lynne, from your newest friend. You have beautifully expressed how I, too, feel about blogging, and the friends I have made...perhaps the icing on the cake is the affection you have for Bantry Bay - I have visited that area many times over the last three years - it is so beautiful, the people so warm.
Thanks for calling by my blog, I am delighted to meet you, and look forward to getting to know you better.
