Gorgeous Western Michigan . . .

Muskegon Channel
Sailing towards Muskegon Lake

Rowing toward Lake Michigan . . .

Fishing the channel . . .

Riding the bike to walk the dog on the channel walk way . . .

I was at the channel the other day for a picnic lunch
and had a chance to snap some pictures.

The skies were filled with clouds,
the water was a brilliant blue,
the wind put a bit of fall in the air.

A lovely day indeed.

~~

As some of you know,
my camera went in the river with me
during the canoe trip last week.
I followed your rice suggestions, but so far, nothing.
I plan on checking with a camera shop tomorrow
to have them take a look at my camera.

It looks like a new purchase will be happening.
 I would appreciate your suggestions
as to what camera you use,
what you like about it and what you don't like!

I don't need anything super fancy.
I think a point and shoot,
pocket camera is probably just fine for me.

if you have some suggestions,
please send them my way!

What a gorgeous landscape!! I am never tired of watching a fabulous sight like this.
Sorry for your camera. Last summer I dropped my lens into a pond.

I can smell the Lake from your photos, can almost hear the gulls. There is nothing like our Lake...it soothes, it cleanses, it makes me feel free! I wish it were just a bike ride away, but it is close enough to get there many times a year. I thought you were the one canoeing in the Lake, YIKES!!!!
Stay safe, I can't wait to meet you! Love, Penny

Beautiful pictures!
Lovely last days of summer :)

I have a point and shoot camera; it is the one that I use the most.
I bought it at Costco, and it is an Olympus. I love it!

Enjoy this day.

Wow, what pretty scenery. It's soooo blue. Sorry you have to purchase a new camera. I have no suggestions as mine is not a point and shoot. Can't wait to hear what you get though. Hugs, Pam

Glad that you're rowing on Lake Michigan and not paddling...:) I love my SamsungHZ30W point and shoot...My stepdaughter (The Beehaven Maven) started out with it but now she's fancier..It does all I need...Costco or online...My sister got one as well..

I hope you find a great camera for you.

Glad you're still walking too. I haven't figured out how to get mine in any longer...but I'm still working on it.

Hi Lynne! Please forgive the long absence...I've returned and am once again part of the human race!
You live in such a pretty area...so sorry about your camera, such a bummer. I remember Martha Stewart Living had great article on camera's a while back and she talked about the ones she used for her blog, thre was a point and click one that she loved and used most, at the moment it escapes me what it was though. I wonder if the article would be on her sight, might be worth a check. I thought at the time, when next I needed a camer, it would be a good resource to remember.
to answer your long ago question about my classes...it's my own business Adventures In Art. Another lady and I travel to the local schools and community centers and give art classes and put on summer camps...and it's pure heaven, I love it!
Just got back into the swing of things again actually...class wise and life in general!
Hope you are well...
xoxo J~

I {had} a Canon PowerShot SD1200IS 10 MP Digital Camera until I lost it in the pasture last spring. Super camera for the money. xo

Looks like Michigan is enjoying the same incredible blue skies that we have - this Fall has offered such intense blues!

Thank you for visiting too. Have a good weekend & happy camera shopping - Canon offers a nice line of point & shoot. I use a Canon Power shot & Canon EOS Rebel T 3 (but that is an SLR)

Lovely series of photos, The water and sky look beautiful. A great day to be outside enjoying a picnic. I am using a Canon Powershot SX40IS. I got it online from B&H. I also have the Canon SX20IS. Both are great for the zoom. Sorry, you are not able to fix your camera.
