A Morning Walk . . .

a resistance of color and warmth outside
but look at old faithful inside
i am hoping to move her back out
to the garden very soon
and introduce her to a couple of
new colorful companions

check out that tummy

made my three mile walk today

with my camera no less
and high twenties temperature wise
and intermittent snow showers

a bit fuzzy
but wanted you to see
snow piles are still here

other than the robin
this was my first glimpse of color
new growth on cedar

around the bend i found my favorite wall of forsythia
a faint blush of what is to come
look closely and you will see the snow flurries

a closer view
of the forsythia
the saying goes
apply crab grass preventer
before the forsythia pops

one of my favorite traditionals
nice landscaping
lovely home

as i am writing this
i see some bright spots of sunshine
and a bit of blue in the distance

i promise not to get too excited
rain predicted for all next week

nearing the bend toward home

in between the rains i have tried to do some clean up
as you can see. . . the oak leaves never seem to go away
and twigs on the peaks need to be tended to

snow flake evidence on my hood
shower and makeup arrives after my walks
self photos are such a trip

back inside
looking outside
onto the bitter sweet vine
winding its way up the old oak tree

and close by is where the bird feeder sits
when my mister fills it

a year ago tomorrow
was the war with the bird feeder
my surgeon hand specialist
loves to tell the story about
his patient getting caught in a bird feeder

my usual companion was waiting for me when i returned

attitude

more eye attitude

this is her look of telling me she really wants some treats
although the doctor told her on wednesday
NO MORE

this little puffed up gal
gained one pound
to her already one and a half over
in four months

this is what snow, ice and very cold will do
she is not liking her new food regime
and neither is that "mister papa guy"

snickers is my usual morning walk sidekick
but boy oh boy was she with an attitude this morning
quite unusual
maybe it was snow in her face when i took her out earlier

any hoo
she wasn't moving
when i said the key walk word this morning

we will double it up a bit
on her afternoon walk

 back to wishing you
a few indoor outdoor bright spots

watch some of the masters
for heavens sake a fourteen year old made the cut
so tiger got penalikzed a bit
sometimes we win a few
sometimes not

our jordon starts his track meets this week
he be a pole vaulting and running some relays
we will be a cheering
for him
and
all the other kids

it is a good thing
we like these grandparent moments

remember
life and living
is up to us ninety nine percent of the time
sometimes it is perfect
some, not so much

i believe when we feel down and out
we can pick ourselves up
dust ourselves off
and
surprise
even our ourselves

catch a little
hope and cheer and kindness
in your day
and a
tall glass of water too

make for a happy life

love lynne

Hi Lynne, it's so nice to see where you go for your walks. It looks like a lovely neighbourhood. I noticed the forsythia at a house down the road this afternoon is almost yellow too! It won't be long. We just need a few warm days in a row. Snickers sure does have a cute attitude face. I hope you have a nice evening. Hugs, Pam

HA! I took some pretty bad self photos yesterday. Makes my nose look sooooo big, Your weather is totally mid-west springtime right now. I think that summertime will hit us in no time.

Once that forsythia pops into full color it should look stupendously gorgeous!

We heard we may get a bit more snow this week, and I'm hoping it isn't enough to ruin what few flowers we have. Thanks for taking us along on your walk. Beautiful neighborhood, with all the tall trees. Sorry your little companion didn't want to go with you this time.

I hope you had a nice hot cup of tea after the walk - we just had some tiny little ice balls falling from the sky!

Love your post! And the later part is so poignant for us right now, as we have spent many hours the last few days in the CCU waiting room awaiting news on a dear friend who suffered heart failure earlier this week. Each day we have received better news. Life is indeed too fragile not to breath in each glorious moment. Thanks for the lift. Bonnie

You still have quite a few piles of snow scattered around. We had a few flakes this morning too! My poor little pups tend to gain weight over the winter. Lovely sites for your morning walks.

You inspire me. I know the personal challenges you have faced lately.

You are healing and your heart is in it so it will be successful.

Gotta love that canine attitude.

Thanks for taking us on a little stroll Lynne... it was delightful! Poor little snickers, but you just tell her she is not alone and that my girls have also been "cut off the treats"! Cheers~

How good of you to get in that daily exercise even when mother nature isn't cooperating. Enjoy your Grandparent duties this week at the track meet.

Lynne, what a lovely post. So uplifting. Thanks for taking me along on your walk, I could do without the snow though. I do love your cute Snickers. Good luck to your grandson! Wishing you a happy Sunday!

Lovely to join you on your walk and to have a peep at where you live. I love the style of the houses with the boarding. Today this w/e our weather has been glorious, temp. rose to 24 deg.C. We were able to eat our lunch outside on our deck, makes me feel so happy when the sun is warming my body, if you have read about me in my post 'I've been tagged' you will know I'm a sunshine girl at heart.I hope the warmer temp. will arrive for you soon, in the meantime take care of your beautiful Hibiscus, also waiting impatiently to go outside in the sun. take care, Barbara

I guess I should not be complaining that it was a bit overcast on the beach and cool all day here. So many blogs I read are still in winter despite the fact that the calendar says April.

Hope your lovely hibiscus makes it outside. A red hibiscus is one of the stars of my garden.

I know we've got at least one more snow coming, perhaps more. Blackberry Winter is around Mother's Day weekend and we usually get snow then.
The hibiscus is beautiful and Snickers looks soooo cute!

You have a lovely home, Lynne. I know the snow and rain can be a bit daunting, but when spring (or summer) finally arrives, it will make a big difference!

Love your pup with the attitude! We spoil them and then they have to pay the price down the road. Have a wonderful day!

Love everything that you packed into this post (even that big bellied robin)! Your hibiscus is so pretty, I was just telling Sall I need to go to a greenhouse just for my sanity. I've got flower fever and one more snow storm is gonna take me over the edge! Me and Miss Attitude could make a good pair.
