It's Cake O'Clock . . .

Fun card I found
for my friend Bettie
whose birthday was last week.

It's a Mary Englebreit card.
I found this new collection of her cards
at our local big box Meijer stores.

If you look closely you can see the card front
with the saying
IT'S CAKE O'CLOCK
cute huh

I used to be a freeko over Miss Mary E
but that is another story
for another time.

The reason I took this picture though
was that gorgeous vase.
Loved it!

Bettie and I enjoyed a wonderful lunch together
at my new most favorite eatery
and then came back to her house for a bit.

Bettie was excited to show me her flowers.
A few months ago she had cataract surgery.
It was time to plant her favorite begonias
but while in her surgery recovery
the doc said to eliminate bending over.

So, instead of bending over
she set the pots on her lap
and planted them that way!

Turned out great didn't they!

Good and great lady indeed.
She was the head nurse of pediatrics for many years
and I am thrilled to call her my friend!

I am singing out
eighty nine cheers for a

 Happy Birthday Bettie
Love Lynne

Friend is a gift you give yourself.
Walk towards the sunshine, and the shadows will fall behind you.

You, my friend, are a collector of dear ones... Bettie is blessed to have you, and you in turn are blessed by her friendship. Happy Birthday Bettie! Did you love Home Companion, ME's magazine. I still have many copies and refer to them for inspiration as the seasons change. Life is just a chair of bowlies! Love, Penny

Lynne, Bette's garden is very pretty. I always admire women who find a way to accomplish what they want to do. My mother used to say, "where there is a will, there is a way". Your friend proved her point. Two lovely ladies! Bonnie
