A Perfect Day . . .

On a lovely, blue sky, cool Autumn day,
my friend Barb and I drove South to Union Pier Michigan
about two hours from Muskegon.

We drove there to meet up with Erin
whom we had met last year at a
Mid West Blogger Meet.

Erin, her husband and children own
a charming cottage on the lakeshore.
We were treated to gorgeous views of Lake Michigan
and Erin's genuine warmth and hospitality.

The cottage is one of seven built side by side
in this beautiful lakeside area.
Erin and her husband remodeled the interior of the cottage
creating as many nicks and grannies as possible.
They eliminated the low ceilings and cleared the way to the roof tops
giving the feeling of a much larger cottage than the actual square feet.

The gardens surrounding the cottage
are equally charming.
Erin has a definite flair
for interior design as well as in the landscape.

After lunch we took a drive to the country
to one of the best pumpkin farms around.

Gorgeous Canna Lilies

This farm had fields of Zinnias
We cut bouquets, twelve flowers for three dollars.
The color was exquisite!

And I can't forget the corn flowers,
pumpkins and gourds galore,
every color, size, smooth, bumps, amazing.
I bought five which I will save for another post.

sunflower caps for the birds

It certainly was a
Perfect Day
Truly wonderful to spend time with Erin

We fell into place with ease.
We visited like we had known each other forever.
I, for one, think that is how it should be
I give the credit to Erin
warm, genuine, authentic, lovely

Thank you Erin for a perfectly lovely, enjoyable afternoon.

What a lovely place to visit, and to be able to choose your own Zinnias for a bouquet & also to take home some sunflower heads to feed your birds during the cold winter months. Thanks for sharing.

Oh to have such a sweet cottage. I so love her choice of fabric in the drapes! That girl knows how to put it all together that's for sure... Looks like the perfect time of year to have paid her a visit with all that outdoor beauty going on.

What we are lacking in this post is a photo of your smiling faces! What an amazing place Erin and her family has at beautiful Lake Michigan. I need to check out Erin's blog as I do remember meeting her after seeing her photo on our Facebook thingy. It 's so cool that you got together. That farm looks amazing too. Happy weekend! This looks like a perfect day, indeed!
I love the sea colors - perfect for a cottage on one of our beautiful inland seas. The painting of the water is my favorite!!
