The Local Epicurian . . .

Art Prize
2013
The Harris Building

You may remember this photo
from a post I did a few weeks ago,
with a view of some of the 2013 art entries located
in the Harris Building
in Grand Rapids, Michigan.

At that time I remembered catching a glimpse of
a shop located on the main floor of the building.
I was curious . . .

Fast forward to a few days ago
when my friend Babs
mentioned a new pasta place she heard about in
Grand Rapids in the Harris Building..
So off we went looking for the

Bingo, there was the shop I had seen during Art Prize.
Better yet, it wasn't just a shop
it was filled with homemade pasta
soup mixes, spices, vinegar and oils, prosciutto, cheese and much more.

Plus it is set amidst the old wood beams,
mortar and brick walls of this restored building.

 Pasta Roman style
Chocolate Truffle Making
Organic Infused Butter Making
Cheese Making
just some of their classes

Lounge and class area
coffee and chocolate bar

You can watch them making pasta.

Prosciutto

I loved the art.

I left with several pasta and soup mix presents for friends and family.
Shhhhhhhh . . .

I was left with ideas and inspiration on this first visit
and can't wait for my return.

I'm drooling, and if it wasn't over the border and far away I would be knocking at their door.

But I have a pasta maker, and creativity, that will have to do for now.

I'm not a big pasta fan but I certainly am impressed with this beautiful shop! Wow. The architecture is amazing enough but the pastas look very interesting. I think they'd make great gift ideas.
