the stalk was being propped up by table knives
so I cut the amaryllis late on Christmas Day
and added it to some greens on the dining room table
the cut glass pitcher was my grandmothers
four flower blooms on the one stalk
another stalk on the same plant
will be busting out soon
my mom always had an amaryllis at home at Christmas time
I didn't appreciate it much then . . . now I do
I wish we were enjoying Christmas
and this flower together

Perfect timing. Perfect arrangememt. Very lovely!
Such a beautiful flower and very original, Greetings
i've only had one one year, but it was lovely.
Beautiful. My mom grew them too.
It came out beautifully and just in time for Christmas too! I hope the other blooms opens for you. Lucky you! I have one and it is growing faster each day.
Gorgeous! I love amaryllis and forced them every year, but have stopped. They are poisonous to cats and my two love to chomp leaves.
So pretty! We were just looking at pictures of Christmas past. My grandmother always had 2 or 3 in bloom.
Absolutely stunning! Definitely perfect timing.
very impressive blooms-perfect for season!
I have three in the porch -- lots of green, but no blooms yet. Yours is gorgeous Lynne!
It's lovely! My Mom grows Amaryllis (pink and red) every Christmas, too. I need to get one for next year and add a new tradition to our family's Christmas season.
Your Amaryllis is just beautiful, Lynne. I think it's wonderful that you've carried on your mother's tradition. Love it, my friend.
Beautiful! A bit of bright color in contrast to the snow :)
Beautiful. Here I can plant mine and they bloom the summer after next.
This is so beautiful, I love that simple things we have remind us so much of our moms.
