YIKES . . . Updated . . .

~
YIKES
I have been saying this a million times the past few weeks,
what with snow, wind, ice, bitter cold
and now today rain, rain and more rain
falling on top of our several feet of snow.
And now, guess what . . . freezing temperatures
happening right on top of it all.

I needed something to lift me up in some hope and smiles.

FLOWERS
Nothing like some fresh flowers with a bit of color
to remind me of things to look forward to.
Grocery store flower purchases will brighten my day
until the springtime bounty of twenty fourteen begins to bloom again.
One day soon there will be fresh flower colors to pick from the gardens.

GREEN
This is my color and the yard and gardens provide it in abundance.
How fortunate to have this winter time to plan, design and dream.
I always look forward to planting something new and different .

LOVE
No doubt about it.
those brown eyes bring giggles and  joy
plus the best thing ever, cuddles and comfort.

Unless of course she wakes us up in the middle of the night
because she is curious about the wild things outdoors
or it is rainy and stormy!

MEMORIES
are gifts to us each and everyday.
Like looking back at my little preschool youngest grand
who is growing up into almost sixteen and doing his practice driving.

There he is, so happy to be going off to school
he could hardly contain himself.
I love this picture!

Here I am clapping my hands in joy.
I am not sure how old I am, I think one or two.
My parents kept my hairless head in a bonnet
so everyone knew I was a little girl.

I remember my young life as happy and adventurous.
Causing a bit of trouble was not out of my realm
or so the stories went.

I look at myself in this picture and can feel my happy.
I wish those feelings for everyone.
I believe ii is a wonderful world.
and believing it can make it so.

This post was a Nancy Random Five Friday.
For some reason, not all of the photos would open in the original post.
So I redid it several times and this is my updated, edited version.
I hope the photos show up, I did learn some things in the process.

Until next time,
Love, Lynne

That's better Lynne but, I also see all the photos are present in the former post now too. Oh well. You did learn something from this 'exercise'. Sweet photos of your grandson and Snickers and, of course, you as a baby. I love pink tulips!

Hi Lynne
I thought it was my server playing up. As where I live we have to have satellite to receive internet. the joys of blogging ! Sometimes it takes me ages to do a post, because I've forgotten how to do something. Still can't get the hang of links, that's why I never join anything.I need a step by step lesson. Can any of your blogger friends show me in simple form how to do it ? Love your little darling dog.

A cute little girl you were and still are. Neat idea to put a bonnet on you. John and I both called a baby girl a boy at church this morning.

I loved this post, Lynne. The cold doesn't sound good, but the rain sounds wonderful. We are hoping for some here..but so far just clouds.
Those tulips are gorgeous. I was just thinking of buying some flowers to brighten the place up too. At least you are getting some Winter. Not here. Still nice and comfortable. Stay safe and drive so carefully. All sorts of stories of accidents when there is ice like that.
Hugs,
Mona

I so enjoyed your "yikes" bouquet! I say yikes all the time, too--so often nothing else seems to say it better. Thanks for sharing your dear thoughts and memories, too. You (and your son) were so cute!

Well, I don't know which one is cuter, your sweet dog, your grand-son and a young age or you...you delight me. Yes, what would we do without our grocery store flowers in the midst of our awful weather!!
