This Is How It All Began . . .

Dear Friends . . .
Three years ago today
I sat down with my friend Babs
and asked her to help me create a blog.

She had been doing her
blog for awhile and had met some wonderful people
so I asked her to help me launch my own.
I wanted some of the same kind of fun and friends!

Babs, Barbie, Barb
asked me what I wanted to name my blog
and the first thing that came into my head was,
Irish Garden House

The garden house you see in the 2011 post is
where we slept on our first trip to Ireland.
The main house is behind and up the hill a bit.
They each overlook Bantry Bay, a wonderful view.

Hiking in the hills behind the house is soooo enjoyable.
On one visit I brought home small stones from the hills and we have them
mixed into the stone work on the garden house we built next to our home.
Mr. IGH hubs had the frame built and a friend and I laid the stone work.

You can see the orange Crocosmia in bloom next to the road.
We feel so fortunate to have visited Ireland three times
and look forward to hopefully return some day.

And here is what I had to say
four hundred and forty three posts ago on
May 10, 2011

one more thing
Happy Mothering Day
this applies to all
young  old
female male
with child
without
happy caring day
may you be treated kindly
with love

Until next time,
Love, Lynne

Irish Garden House

This vintage Irish garden house belongs to
friends of mine and is located near the main house
which overlooks Bantry Bay Ireland.  The vistas of
rich green Irish landscape, the view of the bay and Atlantic Ocean
in the distance, plus the beauty of the orange Crocosmia is awe inspiring.

This is one life chapter of "where it all began . . . "
and I look forward to sharing more photos and inspirations
with you in my recently created May 2011 blog.

Enjoy!

Absolutely, hiking is one of the best adventures! The beauty of your blog reminded me of friendship, traveling and exploring the world with someone you love most. I’m grateful to hear where the irishgarden came from and because of that, I came here! The vintage garden house is exquisite!

It has been raining here so much this spring ( Western PA ) that I've been telling myself that my grass is as green as Ireland's ( as I mow it every 3-4 days to keep up! ) and I am right, now that I see your picture! :)

Lynne, is sounds like you began so beautifully. I was so insecure and had never met anyone with a blog...and had no idea what one was until I accidently stumbled upon "The Little Red House" while looking for something else on line and began to read it.
I've really enjoyed it...and meeting such wonderful people like you.
You've been so much fun to know. It amazes me how much you can grow to care for people you have never met in person and very likely never will.
You are so dear to me.
