This And That . . .

what a perfect time of the year

neighbor fisherman chuck supplies us with salmon and perch
and although not calorie free
this past weekend
I set up the fry daddy on the porch
fried some perch
made homemade onion rings and french fries
whipped up some cole slaw
perfect dinner for a very rainy night
fresh veggies are ready and available at the markets
tonight I cut up yellow, red and orange peppers
asparagus, red onion, zuchinni, yellow squash, red potatoes,
grilled some hamburgers
and made myself a fresh pineapple and banana fruit bowl

 and to top things off
flowers are blooming every where
I made some bouquets for a friends birthday this week
plus another for the gal who was hosting
and even some flowers for the house too

now if the weather could change from hot and humid
to warm with a pleasant breeze
I will be singing
what a wonderful world
~
how about you, are you enjoying these final days of June
and ready for the full bloom of summer
time for
porch sitting
evenings watching fireflies
flying the flag, parades, maybe marching along
bicycles decorated with crepe paper through the wheels
playing bat mitten and volleyball
watching the world cup
barbecues with friends
fireworks

let me hear you singing
what a wonderful world
I like hearing you
~
until next time,
Love, Lynne

Fish and chips are Chris's favorite. Your dinner looked wonderful. It's certainly been a hot humid weekend. I understand the cooler air will come this week and the weather looks to be very pleasant. Just in time for us to take possession of the cottage!

I play it on the piano. "What a wonderful world"...one of my favorites. I can hear Louie Armstrong sing it in my head when I play it. Beautiful, beautiful song of life.
"I hear babies cry, I watch them grow, they'll learn much more, than I'll ever know..and I say to myself..what a wonderful world." Did you hear me? :):)
