is to see the flags flying in the cemetery
in the town where I grew up.
I was chatting with a high school friend of mine today
and I happened to say,
"If you have a chance to catch a picture of the
flags flying in Hampton today, I would love a picture."
My friend Carol never disappoints,
shortly after, these photos arrived
in my email box.

Good Morning, Lynne. What a wonderful friend. Ask and you shall receive.. The flag images are beautiful. Thanks to both of you for sharing these images. Perfect for Memorial Day! I hope your weekend was great. Have a happy new week!
I loved living in Iowa. People had pride there. A rare thing where we live now.
I loved seeing the flags...thanks to your friend for taking these and to you for sharing! Have a nice week!
I look at all those graves and I'm horrified!! I can only wish that there had been another way. Perhaps one day...
A very nice tribute to our fallen heroes. Thanks to your friend, we all got to enjoy the pictures.
We have a National Cemetery here where my husband is buried..Makes me sad to go there but it is beautiful..The thing that really bothers me is the acreage that is now covered with graves that used to be lawn..The caskets are buried standing to save space.I happened to see a new area that was being prepared when I was there several years ago..I did a post about the cemetery in my early blogging days..Have a nice week, Lynne
We remarked at how nice the towns around us looked for Memorial Day with all of the flags flying proudly. But the local cemetaries are always make such a wonderful tribute to the ones who served, always brings tears to my eyes.
Oh Missy . . . really, they stand the coffins . . .
Can you send me the link to your cemetery post?
Jack and I noticed an oddity at the cemetery where my husband is buried the other day.
Several areas were left clear of graves, right in the midst of other graves. We couldn't figure it out!
Large huge areas of green grass . . . and then congested grave areas . . .
A wonder honor to those fallen.
Just beautiful....
Wasn't that a lovely thing for her to do.
