No acorns or pinecones here, Lynne! Looks like you have them all! We used to collect them as kids, but they seem to have vanished in my neck of the woods.

This post brought back a precious memory of Pat, my husband. A "perfect acorn" was the very last thing he gave me before he died. We were on our very last camping trip and he was gone from me within three more weeks. He handed it to me with such love on his face and when I said "What's this??" he said, "I just thought you would like a perfect acorn..." with a bit of hurt in his voice. I immediately hugged him and told him I loved it.

We just spent a good deal of time raking them up today.

Hi Lynne ... you certainly have a good crop of acorn ... you need some wild deer ... they would love them. We are having a fair acorn crop this year and a yard full of Texas White Tail deer eating all of them.
