Eighteen On The Eighteenth . . .

It was nineteen ninety seven
when I met mister irish garden house
we say . . .  love at first sight
we will celebrate
eighteen years of marriage on the eighteenth

we were married
on a landing
at the Hilt Building
home of the
Muskegon Fine Arts Guild
our families and guests were standing
on the main floor below

our ministers married us
our children stood with us

many smiles, much joy

blessed, signed, sealed
after our wedding
we enjoyed a reception
with our friends and family
in the same venue
our honeymoon was at a beautiful log cabin
in the north
we arrived late in the evening after our wedding
with snow falling and
several deer surrounding the cabin
beautiful setting
wonderful days together
Happy Anniversary
mister kennedy
happy eighteen
I look forward to many more

I love you
My daughter asked me the other day,
how and why I/we chose an October day to be married.
I hadn't thought about it for a long time,
but October being one of my favorite times of the year
and  being that something tragic happened in that month
I told her I was ready for something sweet!
Thus the eighteenth was chosen.

A beautiful couple then and now. I'm glad you shared this, Lynne. It's further proof that it's possible to find love again after the loss of a spouse. It's hard to believe we ever will, but it is possible if we open ourselves up to love once more. I'm also glad that you shared the reason behind choosing October for your wedding. Very wise and wonderful. Happy Anniversary to both of you, my friend. Hugs, Nancy
