The Painting Place . . .

We enjoyed another day of watercolor as the rain poured down in buckets.
It rained so hard all day long and into the night . . . most of our snow has been washed away.
Flooding is happening here and there in the creeks, streams, rivers . . .
I hope everyone can stay safe and dry . . .

Once again the kitchen island was set up as the Paint Studio . . .
I added a few munchies and sweets in amongst the paints.

Friend Barbie who had just returned home from a week in Florida was not “feeling in the paint mood.”
She stayed for the visit and some sweets though . . .
Once she arrived home she whipped up these cards . . . aren’t they just the best . . .

Barbie is amazing . . . there isn’t anything that she won’t try . . .
she creates, knits, crochets, crafts, gardens, decorates, volunteers . . .
If she doesn’t know how to do something, she digs in and finds out how! You Tube visitor indeed.
She is the best in the kitchen too . . . I call her “Our Ina Garten!”

One would never know that just a few months ago Barb had to have a kidney removed . . .
A large malignant tumor cyst, soft ball size, was found in one of her kidneys. by her local urologist.
It was a routine urology visit, her keen urologist scheduled a cat scan and the tumor was found . . .
Barb’s surgery was at University of Michigan Hospitals on the east side of the state.
She was hours away from family, friends here in Western Michigan.
Surgery went well, malignant tumor, kidney were removed . . .
Tests following have been very good news . . . no other cancer.
A blessing indeed . . .

Friend Donna came up with some fun paint/card ideas . . .
It is delightful to watch Donna paint . . . she is a natural, very talented . . .
Humble to her core . . . she doesn’t like all the kudos . . . so true though . . . she is a talent!
Each time we paint we glean a bit more from her . . . she teaches without teaching.
I love the cards she created . . .

Here Donna is with grandsons Sawyer and Avery . . . her loves!

I started off trying to do “a paint of myself on a snowy day” . . .
Suffice to say . . . the vision in my head wasn’t what ended up on the paper . . .
Scratched that idea and set off doing some shamrocks and then some flowers.
A day of paint energizes me like no other . . .
So much so, after my walk in the morning, I am going to be back at it again . . .

Or you might find me with my head in a book or two.
Already into jojo moyes’ . . . Still Me . . .

enjoy each life moment . . .
love

Hello, Lynne! You and your friends are so talented and creative. I love the beautiful cards!
You are blessed with your good friends Barbie and Donna. Your paint day sounds like a fun time. I read the first two books from Jojo's, the third book Still Me is on my library hold list. Our weather is predicted to have 4 days of rainy weather but warmer temps. I will be staying in with some good books too.
Have a happy day!

Isn't it fun to paint with someone who is generous with ideas and inspires you? I love all that all of you did. And good news on Barb. What a great group. Creating in company is just the best.

So glad to know Barb is going to be ok.
I love all the painting...I know it must be so much fun. I have not one drop of talent...however, I am going with a group of friends and family members tonight to PAINTING WITH A TWIST...it's so much fun. The one other time I went, we had to paint a cow and that was a couple yrs ago....my cow was so ugly, she is still standing in a corner of my bedroom....would never hang her on the wall.

Sweet sweet cards! Looks like it would be a great way to spend a rainy afternoon, with a palette of gorgeous paints. My hopes are to do some embroidery... how hard can it be, right! LOL
